THE GREAT BUILDERS
map by LegionHero
For 400 years the Great Builders rule over these lands. A council made up of twenty elders, who together decide the laws, taxes, and directs the military and bureaucratic. Nobody had never lived in such a long period of peace and prosperity, and the authority of the elders were respected everywhere. They had brought order where there was chaos, peace instead of war, abundance instead of scarcity. They had financed the architectural works throughout the kingdom. The cities were enlarged, and were built taller and taller towers, palaces ever more luxurious and impressive. The capital of the kingdom was an architectural gem, and gathered the finest works made in these ages. But all eyes were now stuck for months on the large hill that overlooked the city. On top of it stood a giant construction site, with thousands of men at work. The noise of hammers and chisels came up to the roughest roads, and the dust settled like dew on the nearest houses. It was the Monumental Temple.
Built as a tribute to the Gods for the holy days, it would become the pride of the realm. A dome over 600 feet hung over huge pillars, which not even 30 men together would be able to embrace. Inside rested ten statues, whose head was as big as two men. Nothing like it had ever been conceived. It was a crazy project, but the elders had both the materials and the time to complete it. All mines in the kingdom sent the extracted materials to the construction site. Each village had a number of resources to achieve, otherwise it would have been taxed for failing to achieving the target.
In the role of the lord of this village, you have to be able to accumulate the resources required. Unfortunately, the quarry has ceased to exist for years, since it was used only in time of war to reinforce the defenses. Now it was owned by a gentleman of the place. After asking him to extract stone from his quarry, he refused. He had trade with the neighboring kingdom, by selling the stone. You need the quarry. Fearful of a possible attack by you, the owner send a message to the ruler of the neighboring kingdom, asking for protection. You'll have to kill him to make sure that the enemy king not send more troops against you. Indeed, he sees you as a threat to its supplies of stone. In addition, the iron mine was occupied by bandits. After defeating them you've established a small camp near the mine. You have to protect it if you want to extract the iron. The first step of your plan is to conquer the tower across the river. Once taken, you will be able to cross the mountain pass and kill the quarry owner. But be careful, the enemy king will continue to send troops until they kill him. And once dead, could not stop his attacks.
