SKYRIM
SIEGE OF WHITERUN
map by LegionHero

I state that I am a big fan of this game, and I'm surprised that no one has yet tried to create a map in which to recreate the amazing environments of Skyrim. This is my reconstruction of the city of Whiterun. I tried to be as faithful as possible. The profile of the walls, the skyforge, the balcony of Dragonsreach, the sacred tree and all the most important features of the city are recreated in the best.

"The Plains District of Whiterun is home to the city's shops and market, while the Wind District is mostly a residential district. The Jarl's palace, Dragonsreach, dominates the Cloud District."
―Proventus Avenicci

Whiterun is the capital city of Whiterun Hold, in the province of Skyrim. In Whiterun, Nords live as they have for centuries: their lives are simple, harsh, and rooted in ancient traditions. Even the city’s fortifications—wooden and stone palisade walls and the sheer defensive advantage offered by its position on a large bluff that raises the city above the surrounding tundra—are archaic by contemporary standards. Due to its central location, Whiterun serves as the commercial heart of the province of Skyrim.

The Stormcloaks are advancing, winning a feud after another. The last city to resist before they reach Solitude, the capital of Skyrim, is Whiterun. The enemy troops, led by the Jarl Balgruuf the Great, are coming. Will you be able to resist their onslaught?

A tip: large farms outside the city walls are difficult to defend. So try to build some plantation inside, there is space. The drawbridge does not rise automatically in the presence of enemies, you have to lift yourself. To access the deposits of iron you will need to get rid of the wolves who defend the passage. This action also will let a group of archers to join the defense. At the economic level, the city enjoys an excellent market, but the enemies have cut all trade routes. Only few resources are then available. The plain around the city is bare, the few trees growing near the hills, to the South West, but you can still buy wood to market. The Skyforge has enough space to build an iron mine. It will be very useful. Positive events such as marriage or the traveling fair will inform you that your economy is thriving. Otherwise there will be fire and theft to the barn. You have some troops near the observation tower in ruins, move them quickly in the city, they will be vital to the defense.

Your aim is to resist the four invasions that will occur over a period of twenty years.

May Talos be with you.
