Would you step foot into these lands filled with smells that would make any grown man vomit? No? Well, unfortunately for you, this is exactly where you will be spending the next years of your life.. After being expelled from the royal court for insulting the King, this place has become your new home for the foreseeable future.. This is the only region at the edge of the Kingdom that offers some economic benefit, due to its natural iron deposits.. However, the cost is that no sort of fruit bearing tree or crop grows here.. The bigger problem is the barbarian population towards this end of the Kingdom.. These barbarians are only armed with a spear, but they may come in vast numbers to surround your settlement easily.. A noble who is a friend of yours has arranged for archers from the royal army to come to your aid should you encounter the barbarians.. But they will not be many and will arrive not too soon.. It is up to you to defend your settlement, fend off the barbarians and make a claim to these lands as your new home..
I found the bandit attacks in particular to be especially frustrating here, since they'd go straight for infrastructure around the edges of the map that you couldn't effectively defend with your slow spearmen and swordsmen, might have helped a little to make this map a tad bit bigger
