This is an economic mission where you must gather iron to help in the war with the wolf. If you play it in higher than normal itwil be imposble. It can be won quite easily if you do it righ and get a bit of luck.
I've beaten this on easy and normal, but I don't really like it because there's too little you can do to influence the scenario. My idea of a good scenario is "will I play it again?" and this one I won't.

I played and won this map at Hard, I'm sure with some "luck" it could also be won at Very Hard.
The map design itself is ok, though nothing out of the ordinary. You start with enough iron mines prebuilt to win at normal, and more than enough other buildings, though no wood to build more if you want to. Woodcutters are disabled and only one woodcutter is prebuilt so you basically sit there and wait for wood. The "challenge" in the map is the wild animals, wolves and bears which attack your people. Without any means to defend yourself from them (except for your Lord occasionally deigning to kill off a wolf) its mainly luck as to whether they decide to target essential buildings or others. I ended up deleting a lot of the pre existing buildings and using the wood from them to build others in better positions further away from the wolves. I then built extra iron mines and just sat back and waited to meet the iron requirement. I felt there just wasn't enough to do in this mission to keep me interested, and winning is definitely dependant on a bit of luck which I don't particularly like.

Not a lot going on with this map. Interesting idea, but the player ends up just waiting for the iron the come in. Once you figure out what to expect, it's really easy to win. While I think that this is sa good idea, there need to be more elements that the player can control.

What a pity that this mission did not find real fans the time it was submitted. Guess, it was ahead of its time: a tricky and very clever scenario.
Indeed, there does not seem to be alot to do here. Found it virtually shocking myself that the wood cutter's hut is disabled(!), along with many other buildinga including the market.
However, there is a lot you can do which is called micro-managing.
Only one wood cutter? Let's place bad things to speed him up. With increased productivity, ever few wheat farms are needed.
The people are endangered by wolves? Let the Lord catch them one by one. Without fear of invasions he won't bother getting his lifeline damaged.
Bad events without any measure in the village to fight them? Constant need of fixing taxes in both directions keeps the player busy.
With a relatively low population I could win the map pleasantly on very hard.
