You have just returned home with the ship, at the port you are directly told by a scout that 4 powerful noblemen have conspired against you and now with all might try to take the crown from you. Your adversaries have built nearby castles, more and more hostile troops are coming from the hinterland, many trade routes are cut off, making trade more difficult, and some of our engineers have overrun and stolen plans for heavy siege weapons !!
Urge your opponents back from your home!
I was initially intrigued. However the moment I blocked the two passages to my lord, the game became a slog. the final lord took me like two hours, simply due to the number of infidel sitting there. And when i finally cleared them (by breaking my wall to get them to attack my lord and just pumping them full of arrows) i had to go and find every unit hiding to stop the invasions, which were large enough that i left most of my units to kill them as they spawned.
So, suggestions,
1, decrease the size of invasions and remove walls and towers from the build menu (maybe set up some towers for better defense).
2, have less invasions
3, allow the player to create more catapults, or recruit fire throwers to help clear the mass of troops sitting around the signpost.
4, have some pitch near the player, or allow pitch to be bought, so that pitch ditches or boiling pots could be used to fend of the invasions.
I dont know why the invaders didnt attack when my keep was enclosed, maybe theres a trick that would let you fix that, but no way am I going to face that many invaders without enclosed walls. I had 3-400 crossbows killing the invasions at the end of a straight canyon, and they couldnt kill most of the swords and pikes before they turned the corner, if i didnt enclose walls before they got close enough I doubt id have killed them before they walked up to my lord and killed him, no matter how spread out my troops were.
