Free Market Economics (The Golden Crest)by Korsfarer Mogens
StoryAfter the infidels captured Jerusalem, it is vital for our forces to build up an army that is able to strike back. You - an arab nobleman - have been chosen to produce and deliver a large amount of weapons for that army. For this purpose, you've have been appointed the governor of an oasis, where several small communities have their own markets. Your task is to unite those communities so they can cooperate in reaching your goals. You will have to take good care of your people, like feeding them and providing them with enough places of worship.
Goals
- Population: 500
- Religion: 75% blessed
- Swords: 96
- Metal armor: 96
- Crossbows: 96
- Leather armor: 96
ImportantYou should make sure your character is an arab lord! You'll not be able to make western/crusader units. You should take extremely good care of your storage space. Especially the armories, where just 1 lost armory will make it impossible for you to reach your goals. You will not be able to build any storage by yourself (except for the stockpile that comes with the keep). Do not produce any more weapons than the amounts asked for. Otherwise, you will not be able to find room for the other weapons needed. You will hopefully discover what the secondary title (The golden Crest) refers to! This scenario is primarily an economic challenge, but you should be ready for any challenge!
Notes on the scenarioOriginally, I made a similar scenario for the original Stronghold, but wasn't quite satisfied with it. Seeing there was been a shortage of economic scenarios for Stronghold Crusader (no submissions for a year), I decided to redo the scenario as a Stronghold Crusader scenario. I luckily got hold of a version 1.1, so I have tested the scenario in this version, and it seems to work fine. The scenario will take some time to complete, and it will not be easy. You will have to counter all kinds of accidents and threats, and finding work for almost all of your citizens is a challenge in itself. Build wisely, as your settlement will get quite big, and you will have to handle a lot of traffic.
IMPORTANTDo NOT play this scenario in Stronghold Crusader version 1.3 HD. This version has a big bug that cuts many objectives in half, and the scenario will no longer be a challenge. Have just installed the 1.41 HD version, and the bug is fixed in this version, so please use either the latest version, or the 1.1 or 1.2 versions! |
