First constructed in 1062 by Muslims, it fell under Byzantine control in 1104, and was then captured by Tancred, Prince of Galilee. Saladin attempted to besiege the castle in 1188 and take it from the Hospitaller Knights, but failed due to its sheer strength. Indeed, the castle was, in terms of raw power, second only to the much more famous Krak des Chevaliers.
Relive the defender’s experiences as Saladin attempts three frontal assaults on the castle, in ever-increasing scale. During this time, you have also been tasked to gather a large treasury of gold, by any means necessary, to help pay the relief army.

Spears, pikes, and metal armour can be produced at the castle.
A highly unconventional economy may be required for victory.
