While playing mission 13 (the snakes mission), the mission crashed.

If you need a quick solution to this problem you can delete one space in the wall or moat built around the map.
While playing a multiplayer game the connection reconnects constantly.

My text is showing up incorrectly or is in the wrong places in the game?
Check your regional settings are set to the correct language. To find your regional settings within Windows select the START button, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL and click on REGIONAL SETTINGS or REGIONAL OPTIONS and set your location. To do when using Windows XP, click on: START, CONTROL PANEL, DATE, TIME, LANGUAGE & REGIONAL OPTIONS & REGIONAL & LANGUAGE OPTIONS.
My sound is jerky / cutting out while information is loaded into the game.
You may be able to solve this by turning on the DMA setting for your hard disk drive:
Windows 2000
Click on the START, SETTINGS. CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER, IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, <select your drive> IDE Channel, PROPERTIES, ADVANCED SETTINGS and select DMA if available.
Windows 98/ME
Click on the START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, DEVICE MANAGER, DISK DRIVES, <select your drive>, PROPERTIES, SETTINGS and tick DMA.
The sound is very bad; it's echoing and distorted. This applies to both the music and speech. (Only applies to users with GeForce2 MX graphics card)
Download the latest video driver (latest nVidia detonator drivers) from nvidia.
My installation stopped at a certain percentage and when the autorun program appears it always says PLAY.
Load Windows Explorer and click on your C: drive. Click on the tools menu and select folder options, VIEW, HIDDEN FILES and FOLDERS and SHOW HIDDEN FILES and FOLDERS. Click on the Program Files folder and locate the Installshield Installation Information folder, within this folder you will find another named {C917BA70-28A3-4C74-B163-41FD8C8E1A5A}. Delete this folder. Run the game using the setup.exe located within the disk1 folder and the installation should run as normal.
I get an error message saying "Stronghold has caused an illegal error. If this persists please restart your computer" (when using a GeForce 3 video card)
Download the latest detonator drivers from nvidia.
While installing, the installer requests: disk 0 - data3.cab and/or stops at a certain percentage.
1) Disable all running applications and TSR's, such as virus checkers, debuggers etc.
2) After a failed installation, before trying to re-install, make sure that the windows\temp folder is empty, not forgetting to remove any hidden files.
3) Don't use copies of the game created with BlindCopy or CloneCD, which have also been known to show this error.
4) Disable / enable DMA on CD drive the game is being installed from.
5) Copy the contents of the entire CD to a Hard Drive and install the game in safe mode
When I play Stronghold the only time my cursor is shown is when I am moving it.
You can change the cursor you are using in game. By selecting: OPTIONS, VIDEO OPTIONS and then click on the mouse pointer you wish to use.
The in-game character animations play for only a few moments and then stop, while the sound goes on. The cut-scenes where Lord Woolsack and others converse with each other seem to have this problem as well. Other animations (fletcher, bakery etc.) seem to function flawlessly.
The character animations are correct. The animations for the fletcher and bakery loop, whereas the character animations do not.
I receive the following error message, while installing: "The InstallShield Engine [iKernel.exe] could not be launched. Error loading type library/DLL."
This problem is still under investigation. We experienced this problem under Windows 98 and installing from a hard drive. Installing directly from the CD solved this problem.
After installing Stronghold, I clicked on PLAY but my game does not run.
This problem is caused by the copy protecton system being incompatible with the CDROM drive. Please contact Take 2's technical support department.
While playing mission 21 the mission crashed.

Stronghold keeps crashing. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Sound card. I'm using Windows XP and the latest version of Stronghold.
Download the latest Sound Blaster Audigy drivers and this should resolve the problem.
