Duc de Puce (The Rat)

The Rat was raised as an only child in lands belonging to the de Puce family.
The duke showed his mother favour ensuring that she never paid taxes and always had enough to get by. One day a messenger came by and it it was revealed that his father was the same Duc de Puce whom his mother had once worked for as a serving wench.

Due to an unfortunate accident the entire de Puce family had been lost at sea whilst returning from holiday leaving the Rat as next in line to inherit the title of Duke.

Personality

The Rat is a snivelling, whining, childish sort of character. Any setback will cause him to lose his cool in a spectacular way. As you break off more and more of his counties he starts to get seriously nervous.
Everyone bullies the Rat, but if he manages to defeat you he'll prance like a cockerel.

Troops and tactics

The first troops you'll encounter of the Rat are archers. These will come in small groups and can be easily taken out.
In later scenarios he'll be sending spearmen as well and the troops will arrive in bigger numbers, sometimes posing a serious challenge if you underestimate him.
On a few occasions his troops will be accompanied by engineers with mangonels, so you should be ready for a breached wall or two.

When is he encountered?

The Rat will be encountered first in the third scenario (Eliminating the Wolves), although he will only be introduced to you in the fourth mission (A Hidden Lookout) right up until the ninth scenario (The Rat's Last Stand).
