Lady
The lord's wife. Usually she would marry young, a match arranged by her parents. She was frequently left in charge of the castle when the lord was away on business or at war and had to ensure everything ran smoothly. Sometimes a lady would have to organise the defence of a castle in the lord's absence
Laundress
A laundress looked after the castle's washing
Lord
The owner of the castle or estate. He had both judicial and fiscal powers and policed his own land. He was even allowed to mint his own coins
