Notes
This for me was the most difficult of the economic missions. Juggling priorities in the first couple of years was the most challenging part as so much seems to happen quickly.
Almost as soon as my keep was placed a few bears started attacking but hunters were able to
kill them off. Before long wolf attacks start then plague and fire are interspersed with rampaging rabbits.
The only barracks available is stone and you soon need troops to defend against increasing wolf attacks so you need to either start production of it quickly or trade for some. I eventually had enough stone produced to build a gatehouse and wall blocking the wolves' entry which made things considerably easier. I used woodcutters to control the rabbits with occasional help from my troops.
Taxes, selling iron and some excess stone provided the money needed to pay for the large number of bad things needed. I placed most of these only after the wall had been built as while they do make your workers work harder they also have a negative effect on your troops.
Once the objectives for this mission are met you then must maintain them for 2 years to achieve victory. Plague and fire made maintaining the population requirement difficult, increasing the population to 25 over what was needed gave me the leeway to lose some people and still maintain this objective.
