The new HD patches for Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold Crusader Extreme are available to download from various websites, for your convenience here is a list of links -

These patches will not work with the Steam versions. We're in talks with Steam about adding the HD versions and updating the Stronghold Collection versions of the games. We just need to wait for Steam to give us the green light.

Hi, don't know if I am allowed to reply to it here, but I can't get this to work, it says i need a previous version of the application, could this be due to the fact that i lost my CD a long time after installation so i had to find a no cd crack ? - Long time SHC player, will be disappointed if I cannot get this without re-purchasing.

Hi Eaogrim!

You probably already have a version 1.2, so the patch will not install.

You, and the rest of us with a version 1.2, will have to wait until FF Studios resolve the problem with "Take-Two Interactive" : http://www.take2games.com/.

If it's any comfort, the original Stronghold (from "Take-Two Games" version 1.2) will upgrade to 1.3 (the HD-version).

I have the Stronghold Collection disc and I had some issues installing the patch too. I downloaded from Gamershell first and they did not work. However, I downloaded the patches from Gamefront and Stronghold and SHC updated just fine.
Gamershell had two files to download and Gamefront had three. Stronghold went well, and then for SHC I updated Extreme first, which in turn updated SHC. The patch for SHC was not needed for me.
Hope this helps. I was worried that the Stronghold Collection wouldn't work with the patches, but I am up and running in HD.

Uh oh, I just updated and it erased all of my crusader trail progress :-(

Any idea how to get it back?

It is likely that the update replaced/erased some existing files. I doubt your progress can be restored, sorry.

The first time I tried to update, it said that I need to uninstall the original version. Now that I have uninstalled, however, it says I need a previous version of the patch.

(I have Stronghold Collection) SH, SHCrusader , and SHC Extreme are properly patched and up-to-date.
