Thankyou for the replies.
DoomSword, or is it DoomsWord. Glad you responded as you seem have a great interest in the same things I have but you are better at finding the answers.
So...
I cannot find a way to remove the white 'reflection from quarrystone.
I have managed to blacken it uo a bit but there's that annoying whiteness that really bugs me and I assume it may have to do with shaders?... but I can't seem to figure it out. (I use Paint.Net)
I was able to turn the orange tops of wooden walls into a dull dark green (makes it look like treated wood but at least it's not bright orange).
I've changed some landscape graphics to appeal to me more and toned down the castle walls, but I still get an annoying 'golden reflection' on the top walkways.
However, the quarrystone is my question and the other bright white rocks in the game. I've gone over your excellent textures tutorial but am stuck over the white stones and reflections.
I have gone thru every available sound byte and found which one is the 'I cannot stand alone' one -enemy_warning14.mp3- but the one that used to say the 'Lord is under attack' I can't find so I assume it must be from the old original game. I will eventually re-install my game without updating (I bought it right when it first was released), and see if I can find the soundbyte I want.
I absolutely love the game and the wonderful humor and English dialects that the characters have.
I fantasize sometimes that if I won a huge lottery I would buy the rights to the game and have all the original firefly team make new add-ons and missions and expand it to make the editor have hundreds of new models, AIs and scenarios.
I'm an unsociable, housebound, reclusive senior with nothing better to do and I spend endless hours making and modding the maps and playing them over and over with different missions etc.,. I guess fanatic comes to mind.
I have used many of the hints and tips from this website and appreciate that you have contributed so much of it.
LS
PS. Also thanks EaglePrince, I agree about why it was not well received, If only they had re-done it without going to Legends with the Vampire and magic bit but just included the extra editor things like the snow, flowers etc...
The thing that bugged me until I figured how to make the changes are "Time Limits". I like to do things at my own pace so I can enjoy the game better. so when necessary I always extend the time limits to suit my pace.
