Misty Ways
After a strenuous three-days-march under heavy rain through the hazy marshland of “Falconiaâ€, Lady Catherine and her escort finally reached Sir Longarm’s County. The loyal Earl himself had pledged to offer shelter in this hardly accessible territory located out of the human civilization, hoping that they could cover up their tracks. Nevertheless, Lord Scabcoat’s pursuers had picked up a trail, so it seemed that the “Evil†had sent out some spies everywhere to track them down yet ...
So what had happened?
Lord Scabcoat, alias “The Ratâ€, deeply annoyed that he was not taken into consideration to succeed to Lord Baldur’s estate, had hatched a nasty plan: He had kidnapped Sir Greybeard, Lord Baldur’s testamentary heir with the intention to extort a certain amount of ale from Greybeard’s relatives. And he had also delivered an ultimatum of 80 days by announcing that he would stab out Sir Greybeard’s eyes if his demand was not fulfilled within the defined space of time.
Secondly, he was threatening that he would kill Lady Catherine, Sir Greybeard’s daughter, if she refused to get married to him. Since then the beautiful, noble Lady wasn’t secure anymore, so she decided to confide in Sir Longarm and to seek refuge under his roof ... at least for a while.
Instructions:
Now it’s high time to fortify your keep in this godforsaken spot of land, as wolves and the Rat’s gang are chasing after you.
Tear down the ruins of a former church to receive stone for the construction of barracks and an armoury. This enables the recruition of archers to your protection.
There are only eight peasants available, thus charge them wisely with different tasks.
The swampy and misty area is an extremely unhealthy terrain, so you have to fight against fever, plagues and mordant fume. You will need a healer as well.
Food is always in short supply, neither fruits nor bread, just a few domesticated wild boars for your nutrition.
You can exploit pitch, a very useful insulating material for your buildings or even the wooden walls.
Since gold is mostly tight, you should choose a moderate taxation, for trading is not efficient in the wilderness. You can sell venison, pitch or crossbows if necessary. The soil is not very fertile, but you are able to grow hops there for the brewing of the requested ale. Be aware of the time limit, as recklessness might be mercilessly punished...
Enjoy the scenario!

And if you have the 60 "braies" ...it tell at the end you don't have the 60...
I think it cames from the game because i never got this troubel with stronghold 2 ..
I retry 3 times but same trouble... |

A very interesting map. I felt that the spacing between events was good and the map was challenging enough without being made to feel overwhelming. I got a particularly nasty surprise when I sent troops to destroy the ruins at night and found dozens of wolves waiting for me. :)
I really like the terrain in particular on this map. It all looks very natural and creates a nice atmosphere. Would there be any chance of a freebuild version of this map?
Thanks for uploading and well done! |
