After being contacted by an old friend, you travel south to visit with him and his followers. Unknown to you, the Snake as gotten word of your travels and arrived before you, killing your friend Lord Greenwald. Now it is up to you to get revenge!
This is my first attempt at an Invasion. I played through it several times, and believe that everything is fine tuned for your enjoyment. Please submit your comments.
I found this to be a fun little map. And I do mean, little. Haha at first I felt a bit cramped but one adapts. It's interesting to see how much infrastructure you can fit in a well defended castle. And I actually grew to like how different it was playing on a small map like that.
Nice scenery; and the Snake's quotes made it feel like a true invasion.
Balance was good; though I found it just a hair easy on the Normal level.
Also great you can complete the game in an hour or so. Considering I stayed up til 2am to (finally) beat the Gilbert the Red Earl map; I fully appreciated how quickly this map played.
Nice map. I'll look for some more you have made!

Revenge for Greenwald is a fun, fairly straightforward, economic/invasion scenario. You start with nothing but the keep and, along the shore, the grave of your dear friend, Greenwald, killed by the Snake. Place the granary and you are off in a race to establish your economy and build up forces to fight off increasingly strong attacks.
Interesting that this scenario has no lord. A swordsman, stationed in the keep at the beginning of the game, appears to represent him. He was a lot less trouble than a real lord – he stayed put and didn’t go strolling off into trouble. However I am not sure how “defeat” is determined in this game. When I “lost” in my first attempt it was just because my settlement was so thoroughly overrun by the enemy. They were destroying everything and I could not stop them. So I restarted. I never got the “defeated” screen. Creativity – 3.5
First time I played I lost early on – I underestimated the strength of the first invasion and was unprepared – defense is the key. Next time, I concentrated initially on archers and then switched over to crossbowmen. Also I quickly began to collect stone to build walls and gates. This is not a scenario you can win casually - you have to be “on your toes” and really hustle or you will not survive. Victory came on my second attempt (after approx 17 game years). Playability – 4.5, Balance – 4.
The map is well done and depicts a sea coast. Good detail in the beaches and rocks also in the cliffs beyond the beach. However, there was a large section of uniform green without detail. It would have been nice to see some rocks, ruins, plants or other details here. Map – 3
Dianna125 has written a good descriptive story that draws the player in and clearly establishes the setting for the story and the motivation to win. I would like to see the full story (as found in the scenario) quoted on the download description page. Story – 4
Note: Dianna125 gave the first review I ever received at Stronghold Heaven (for my "Orc Caves" map) Thanks Dianna!

I was passing by out of curiousity and noticed there was no minimap. So I took the liberty of adding the minimap. In the process I had to guess that the version used was v1.1 (the update form insists that the version is now added)
