This is a very short scenario, where the Pig will attack you in a few months time with over 200 troops. You have only a few troops to defend your castle with, so you must position them well.
You must have extremely quick reflexes to win this one. It is near impossible to win this the first try, but you'll get used to it after a few tries. You may have to use a few small tricks and strategies, too.
*Please rate this map and leave some comments! It is one of my first maps, and I want to see how well (or badly) I fared.*
Krakendale's "A desperate situation" is a short direct, to the point map. Your keep is in place, there is stone in your stockpile and your troops are a short distance away. Nothing else matters in this game except that the Pig's forces are coming very, very soon.
The map itself is fairly plain, mostly flat grassland adorned with a small rise, a patch of pitch, some trees, and a beach. This is one of Krakendale's first maps. In terms of existing structures, there is only the keep, the granary, a few production units, and some game editor ruins nearby.
In spite of the extreme simplicity of this game it is a challenge to play as you have almost no time to stop and think. For me there was the additional challenge of playing this particular game on a laptop with the little built in positioning devise while I waited for a car to be serviced. (Just trying to make good use of my time!)
Ultimately the only way I found to win was to move quickly to the keep and completely wall myself in behind layers of stone wall - never mind a gate. And then fight off the large invasion force of the pig's.
Not a bad little game. For a beginning designer it is pretty well balanced.
