Hi to all, REMEMBER THIS MAP IS TO BE PLAYED ON ATTACKING ONLY,thanks.

The results are in and many congratulations to Duke of Yorks Winner. (great map!):)

My map was based on the Beaumaris Castle and is a "what if " meaning it gives you a chance to take the castle which of course never happened in history, so here is your chance.

Assemble your men and fight your way through the huge gates of Beaumaris castle and to the keep where the King waits nervously to seee what his future holds.

I think Beaumaris Castle is my favourite, its concentrick design is a wonder and its powerful gatehouses are quite magnificant to say the least.

My map wasn't the winner but I assure you I gave my all in its design and hope that you cn enjoy this map, my interpritation of "Beaumaris Castle."

Emperor Alexus.

NOTE: before i review this map i would like to say that i'm reviewing this map not as a cousin and close friend but as a reviewer. I really believe it is worth a 5 and so will you after you play it. This map was superb. It has everything i like to see in a seige. The small army you are given at the start don't seem to be enough and it was on my 6th try that i finally defeated the king. Very well put together, this creative peice of work looks very similar to the original. The use of hills and rocks inside the walls of the castle gave a realistic look to it and the overall terrain was very well done. (something you're good at i might add) As i mentioned earlier the balance is perfect. A rush attack fails at the first gate and the attack needs to be planned out before making your move or you'll find yourself loosing time and time again. The rocks around the moat are something i don't see often and give a good touch to it. Overall another great acheivement Well done!

I just felt like I just had to review such a great map. So creative and challenging.

Playability - 5 - This map is perfectly made, giving you just the right amount of troops to storm the keep. Took me about 5 times to get it right, but it felt so great when I finally won it. Great job.

Balance - 5 - Again, great balance in this map, just enough troops to take the castle and the design of the castle was well created to stop your troops.

Creativity - 5 - The thing I really liked about this map was the special way you made the fortifications on the walls, by raising one section of the wall and not using the standard ones from the game. Quite a nice touch. Also, having the terrain not be flat in the middle of the castle, but have small hills was very neat, and something I have not seen before.

Map Design - 4 - This map was superbly done, the dock area, the small farms outside the castle, the castle itself with all the buildings around the walls and the rocks around the moat. The only thing that could of been improved was the fields around the castle, which you could of added a little more vegetation to, but then again, this was a historical map, so I guess you couldn't really change anything drastically.

Story/ Instructions - 4 - Great description of the castle, on the website and on the description box in the game. Really gave a good background to the castle. But there could have been a bit more, and there was a few typos

Overall, this was one of the best maps I've played, and I encourage others to play it as well!

This is a lovely map - you can sit and admire the minmap for hours. You have really made progress as a designer. It is clear you have put lot of work intothis map and I bet that you were not far off Arundell castle. There are a few minor flaws with this map - there is no siege equipment for one thing. I think it would have been great if you had got the entire castle surrounded with men with loads of wooden shields and catupults. I just think it is a bit odd that you have to atatck this castle with only men to tear it down. I personally found the map too hard hence the four for balance (so many crossbowmen!). It was just too much! A map for more expeienced players then. What is truly amazing about this map is the fact that there are no crenulations, all the walls are stone walls, some lifted up in front of others to make it look like crenulations. This is amazing, really innovative. Great work! I do think there was not quite the need for so many crossbowmen at the back of the castle - I think that there should be fewer where the castle is not being attacked. The minimap is fabulous for this castle, breathtaking - you really have followed the design of beaumaris perfctly! (with a bit of scaling up!) The surrounding map design was very nice, lots of little pieces of eye candy so great work here. Ther is a nice bit of information on the site and next to the map and it is well written. I think it wold be an injustice forthis map to get anything lower than 4.6 though, so balance 4.5 story/instructions 4.5! Overall superb castle work, love the crenualtons. Good job!

Playability: 5
Works fine, not a single boring moment, makes you really think.

Balance: 5
I completed the map at my first attempt at normal with 74% troop-losses, and that mainly because I underestimated the fire started in the inner bailey and a failed diversion by my knights.

Creativity: 5
The use of walls is gorgeous, not a single crenellation!

Map Design: 5
Almost an exact copy of Beaumaris, only that the outer towers actually were towers, and not bendings in the wall.

Story/Instructions: 4
Rather basic.

Additional Comments:
I would LOVE to play this map as a defender...too bad the attacker AI doesn't work =P
Dumptrailer2 Awwww.... I feel so bad. My Beaumaris has nothing on this one. :(
