The wars abroad had been long and exhausting. Young Sir William was proud to serve his sovereign, King Aldwich, in foreign lands. But now he is returning home to his family's estate, Brakehart Manor, at last. Here, unfortunately, he discovers that evil has been afoot in the kingdom during the king's absence.
This is Chapter 1 of a ten mission campaign. Set in a fictitious realm, it chronicles the suffering, struggles and battles of those who are loyal to the true king.

\"Easy\" and \"Hard\" don't refer to the difficulty setting in the game controls, but to the relative ease or difficulty with which you'll beat the mission. I made the first scenario easier than the others because that's normal in computer game campaigns. Things start out easy and get harder as the campaign unfolds. Hope that helps :). |

Very good scenario, first time i attempted it i planned to slow and so i got killed, nice design and quite tricky if to long is taken planing things out.
I dint like the fact that the only troops you could train were spearmen, because every attack that was sent you lost considrable amount of men, the choice of producing archers would have help, but might not of kept the balance.
overall i really enjoyed the map.
Now i better start playing the next one |

Very nice scenario!
PLAYABILITY: Fun to play, but what's up with invasions after the "time til the last invasion" is met?
BALANCE: The scenario appears well balanced (although the diet wasn't - GO APPLES!!)
CREATIVITY: A deduct here ties in with the story/instructions. It will be explained in the latter topic.
MAP DESIGN: Nothing flashy, but well-designed for the scenario. In other words: perfect!
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: OK...where to begin? The background story was good. Definitely above average. Hints in the .txt file were accurate, but I don't understand giving people hints unless you have designed something really devious. The fun is found in figuring out things for ourselves.
What I really could not understand though, was why I had hunters running around with bows...had archers defecting to my side from out of the woods, but I was still somehow devoid of the knowledge needed to build my own bows. Highly inconsistent. It seemed a very non-creative way to achieve balance, so I split the deduct between CREATIVITY and STORY/INSTRUCTIONS.
Overall - a solid, fun to play scenario (highly recommended, in fact) - but one that has left a little room to polish a few rough edges.

This is a great intro map to what will I think be a nice series. I was somewhat pleased to find a simple map for starting off the series.
The playability of this map will make novice invasion players quite happy. The scenario itself is easy, yet not so much so that it is boring. A nice starter.
I would have scored the balnce even higher if it wasnt for the time until last invasion sequence in the info panel. Once the first invasion has come, the slide bar indicates that the last invasion has already happened. I realize this is most likely a glitch in the editor, but still can not see scoring a 5.
Very nice plot and story add to the creativity of this map. Nicely done.
The map design is impressive and I found little in the area of flaws. The map design does present a nice natural feel.
A wonderful intro story to what should be a great series. I will enjoy playing them all I am sure.

Hi
Great Map !!
I Realy enjoyed the map, found the playability very good. The only reason that I didnt giva "5" is due to the balance.
I think the balance is good - but it is a bit too easy when you have alot of $$ and can buy the food/wood neccessary to get a good start - still it is good!
The Creativity was great - the use of a knight in the start, simulating the story´s main character was a very creative move (too bad that I managed to get him killed in my first try :)
Map design - The map is very good, one can see that the author has given it alot of time.
Story - Very good story!! You "get into" the story at once. I look forward for the rest...

i know..this is late and all....
i really liked it... the story was VERY creative
the map design you couldn't place very much stuff [but you didnt need very much stuff. The instructions it says you need a pop of 60 and on the conditions/instructions [when u press that i near the minimap it says your population only needs to be 30...with some suprising attacks that wiped out my farms and had to restart! overall it was cool
