This is an invasion map, where you have to defend and to attack in both ways; there is an economical touch, too, but be patient, it could be hard, if you don't find the solution. Use all natural conditions, wood etc. and produce bowmen, they will be the key to succeed.
very tricky this map, but it took a long time till I'd found the solution. Then it became easy to start attacking the Snake's Castle and eliminating all enimies units.
Lots to do!Playability 5, not boring!
Concentrating your food production on grain and hops farms on a small island in the midst of a wide river, that divides the map into two parts.
From the beginning I placed 5 or 6 woodcutters to get enough wood for a wooden wall along the lookout point in the forrest on the eastern borders. From here I could control, during the whole game, the arriving hostile troups and kill the most of them before their assaults. Naturally I've had to train enough archers and crossbowmen to achieve that. Installing traps in front of the wall gave me a durable security.
Killing the Snake and his solders was totally hard work:sending a handful of archers straight over the river's ford directly under the rocks of the enemies'castle, where the hostile archers didn't noticed them. From there the enemy became a perfect target.
Fulfilling the remaining goals wasn't a problem anymore:
Reconquering the iron mines and so on...
All in all an "intelligent" creative designed map,a fantastic realistic outfit, simply flawless!
(By the way the impressive waterfalls!)
No need for more detailed author's instruction, well done.
Great work, Stratego!
P.S. I think this map is really hard for someone who has got problems with defending and attacking simultaneously, but that was great!!
Cheers

Thanks a lot guys for your motivating ratings;
It's a good incentive to create more of such well-dessigned maps...
.. the next one "Delta Danubia"(cede) will come soon!

Playability: 4
At first I was let down by the lack of trebeck capabilities but having over 150 crossbowmen equaled everything out.
Balance: 4
Didnt know there was a safe spot close too the castle, but 200 crossbowmen dont need to hide. The invasions had quit by the time I attacked the castle. I usually have the enemy lords death stop the invasions that way the player has a time limit without a time limit.
Creativity: 5
The only thing missing was the bears under the waterfalls catching fish. Its mating season you know.
Map Design: 5
I wish my landscapes would turn out like this.
Story/Instructions: 5
The story sets the map up nicely.
Additional Comments: I knew I would like this map as soon as I saw it. It gives you fun while posing a challenge.
