The castle Aquanitas does not exist in reality. It is pure fantasy and my very first contribution. Therefore, I chose a siege map, bacause I think it is much easier to create than an invasion scenario.
Playing the game in normal mode, it is quite easy to defend the castle. However, if played on very hard it might become a challenge, especially if you do not make good use of your small number of troops right from the beginning.
Don't be fooled by the seemingly harmless attacks of the macemen ... there's plenty of spikemen to deal with later on.
Playability: 2
The AI's use of the catapults is to no effect on the only section of map (the gatehouse with drawbridges) and are basically of no consequence to the seige of the castle. Also, the AI sends the macemen at intervals, who are easily handled at V.Hard, followed by swordsmen, who can't fill in the moat and just stand around waiting to be shot down. The pikemen come last, and are mauled by the boiling oil and crossbowmen.
Balance: 2
The map is just too easy, for the reasons listed in playability above. I easily survived at very hard without even a loss, or engaging my own pikemen in actual combat.
Creativity: 3
The gatehouse with dual drawbridges is a nice piece of work, and the construction design of the castle is good, if not anything spectacular.
Map Design: 3
Again, nothing special here, but the designer uses terrain and foliage well, and the lake is nice.
Story/Instructions: 2 The in-map story is okay, and no instructions are really necessary, but a storyline and a minimap would be nice to draw the player into the map.
