This castle is situated on an important crossing point on the river. For centuries, settlements have sprung up here, taking advantage of the naturally defensive site. This crossing point is the only one for miles around, and as a consequence is a major trade route. You can still make out the remains of the earliest settlement here, the slightly raised areas south of the castle.
The keep has been built on a small island and its separation from the main castle adds further defensiveness.
NB: Please feel free to review this map, as it is my first attempt and submission here.
When I tried this map the first thing that impressed me was how good of a map it was. This is a fun scenario and I enjoyed it. I won on first try on defense on normal setting with 37% troop loss. I tried defense on hard and basicaly used the same tactics and won again. Attacking on normal I won on my first try with 9% troop loss, though I dont want to give away how I accomplished this and ruin it for others. Let them figure it out for themselves..lol The same tactic works on attacking on the hard setting. Good first siege...
