Jamailia City - Guild Wars
In the years that have long since passed out of record and into myth and legend. There existed a great city in the East. This city was at the time, the focal point of all world affairs. For it was within its mighty walls that one would either find profit or demise. The city was constantly growing and expanding its area, with much fertile and prosperous land for grant. The people did not bicker and quarrel with one another, and nobody took more then their fair share. Though such times cannot last, and soon citizens began to riot as greed for power and wealth overtook them. The cities governing parties could not stop them as they did not have any armed forces to suppress the violent riots. So the governors decided to set up such a force, in the form of a guild. They also decided that incase the force were to challenge the governing rule, they would develop, not one, but four of these guilds, in order to create competition between them. As soon as the first guild members began to patrol the street, the riots subsided, and eventually ceased altogether. It seemed that their would not be any more violence once again, but as the governors had planned the guilds became competitive with one another, although the problem that the governors did not anticipate, was that the guild competitiveness soon evolved from street brawls and public bashings, to stock raids and assasinations, to blockading and all-out war. With parties of the warring guild members in numbers comparing to a sizeable army seiging and blockading rescources and areas of the town, and slaughtering massive numbers of people they found belonging to other guilds, be they innocent, or not. The governors soon lost controll of the city and were forced to seal themselves within the inner perimeter, using specially trained warriors to guard the gate houses, walls, and towers. They hid themselves in local residence for fear of being assasinated, and prayed that they were not found. Outside in the streets the fighting had caused all production to stop, and locals hid inside their houses for fear of being killed. The guilds continued to make war with one another, and as they did, their greed and anger was fuelled into an undying hatred for eachother. All knew that the fighting would have to stop eventually, but the question was when. Would it end quickly and the peace be restored, or would it continue until the only reminants of the hatred and greed could be found in smoldering rubble. The question will be yours to decide my lord...

Here are a few comments from some players I know who have tested the map {I'm hoping for some proper reviews soon}:
"This wonderfully detailed map adds a new and interesting aspect to crusader that has little been explored. The idea of street/city style fighting inside a beautifully laid out and well planned city, with huge amounts of strategic option available to the player, give this map endless playability. Aside from a small glitch here and there the design is truly marvelous and the author should be proud." - |Terron|
"This is great, I dont have to build anything, or worry about my economy WOOT! And to top it up I get to burn down an entire city :o) Good job skaarj" - {PeTeR666} |
