Minas Tirith by WarLord Designs.
That night Pippin and Gandalf speak at one of the many balconies of Minas Tirith.

Pippin: So I imagine this is just a ceremonial position, I mean they don’t actually expect me to do any real fighting, do they?
Gandalf: You’re in the service of the steward now, your going to have to do what you’re told Perigin Took.
Pippin: It’s so quiet.
Gandalf: It’s the deep breath before the plunge.
Pippin: I don’t want to be in a battle, but waiting on the edge of one I can’t escape is even worse. Is there any hope Gandalf? For Frodo and Sam?
Gandalf: There never was much hope, just a fool’s hope. Gandalf turns and smiles at Pippin. He then looks towards the mountains of Mordor.
Gandalf: Our enemy is ready, his full strength gathered, not only orcs men as well, legions of Haradrim in the south, mercenaries from the coast. All will answer Mordor’s call. This will be the end of Gondor as we know it; here the hammer stroke will fall hardest. If the river is taken, if the garrison at Osgiliath falls the last defence of this city will be gone.
Pippin: We’ve got the White Wizard, that’s got to count for something.
Pippin smiles at Gandalf, he looks away into the night. Gandalf.
Gandalf: Sauron has yet to reveal his deadliest servant, the one who will lead Mordor’s armies in war, the one they say no living man can kill. The Witch King of Angmar. You have met him before, he stabbed Frodo. He is the Lord of the Nazgul the greatest of the nine, Minas Morgul is his lair.

As they look out towards Mordor a huge beam of power shoots up into the air. A cloud of fear settles over Minas Tirith. Gandalf puts his hand on Pippin’s shoulder, comforting him as best he can. Gandalf stares into the dark sky.

Gandalf: So we come to it at last, the great battle of our time.

Arthus and I have put alot of time and effort to bring you our representation of Minas Tirith. We would like to thank everyone for their support.

Have fun!

A truly excelent map of Minas Tirith, and in my opinion, the best Lord of the Rings map, and the best by WL_D.

Playability-5
This map is absolutely superb fun. From the start you must quicklyt hurry to get your men ready. I broughtlarge amounts of archers forward, and positioned the somewhat abundant swordsmen in strategic points to protect my guys. Apart from a point at the end, their is always something for the player to be doing. Whether its moving men around, targeting trebuchets, or simply viewing progress, the screen is rarely still for more than a few seconds. The whole experience, as well as been great fun, is quite intense as you wait for the Rohirrim. The only problem here is that toward the end the enemy ceased to attack the walls until Pikemen arrived. I was able to kill a large quantity of macemen due to this. However, the whole experience was still a good one.

Balance-5
Flawlessly balanced. I finished on my third try. The first time I didn't really move much, as I was trying to get a feel of the map. The second try resulted in a loss, but it was close. The third time round, however, I finally won. As I fought to defend the final two "rings" the enemy kept coming. I had an imbalance of men on both sides of the city. As I hurried to usher them back, the rohirrim arrived at last. While they fought their way to the top of the city, the enemy broke through. However, I was able to hold them off long enough with pulled back archers and swordsmen. As the last enemy was killed between the men of Rohan and Gondor, I won!!(with a lot of losses).

Creativity-5,
This is a Lord of the Rings map, which isn't original, and Minas Tirith has been done before. However I stil award a 5. The whole scale of the citys many towers and walls is breathtaking. If you zoom out dueing the siege, or indeed, after it, you will see what I mean. Additionally, the amount of fun crammed into this map blasts anything that has come before it. Finally, the city design is so accurate. Its not just a city with seven walls, but a shining fortress of stone, as seen at the cinema (well, pretty much so).

Map Design-5
This map is beutiful. From the excellent terrain, to thedesign of the castle. It also looks great on the map. With the use of HImalaya terrain, and almost all the tools the editor offers, the terrain looks real and believable. The city itself is wonderfully sculptered. Looking at the city is an experience in itself.

Story-4
A good long story, explaining exactly what happened, without just copying straight out the books (apart from the speech).

To sum this map up in a word, AWESOME!! I came soooo close to giving it 5.0 overall, but couldn't quite do it. However, this map should be downloaded rightnow by all who view it. DO NOT let the problems below stop you from doing so, they are just why I didn't award full marks.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
NB. The story probabaly deserves a 5, but their were several small flaws, that, while not lowering each individual category, meant I couldn't give the map a 5.0 overall. Firstly, the A.I. problems detailed above. Secondly, the size of the map meant it was often hard to get men to go were you wanted (i.e they wouldn't move, or wouldn't go on a wall.) The final problem was that I often found it hard to move men due to the gatehouses always opening and closing on me.

Thanks for the review Jax,
We appreciate the review and the comments, I was just wondering what flaws in the story were evident? (took about four hours to do).I sat infront of the screen watching and typing as I went, describing the characters emotions and actions, could you explain please.
i understand the flaws in the AI, it was hard to get it to the standard it is now but we know it wasnt perfect, they do tend to stand around at times,
again thanks for the review we really do appreciate it thanks a heap.

Warlords- Their isn't actually anything wrong with the story. However, the problems were hard to place in each individual category. I.e. the gatehouse problem was due to map design, but affected playability and balance. I couldn't lowere all thoses to 4 and give the map its due, so I awarded a 4 to story to compensate.

I really think it is the best Minas Tirith map made ever!

Playability: The enemy gets inside your keep killing and destroying all in their path... but also you had defenders.. and.. i like this kind of battles. The only thing is that it was difficult to move your troops 'cause the gates close.

Balance: I think it is excellent, it is difficult yes, but it is possible to win.

Creativity: It is just not very creative to make a LOTR map these days, but this map deserves a 5, and it is the only one of MInas Tirith that i've seen with all 7 levels as in the book and movie.

Map Design: What could i say? It is a majestic city, and the map outside is just awesome

Story: I was about to put a 4... but it explains exactly what happens, and I like very much the dialogues between Gandalf and Pippin.

Overall: Maybe the best LOTR map huh? But this map should be downloaded & played by all of you players!

Thanks for the review,
WL_D.
Lord_Raganar There is something that really bothers me about this map description since I am such a big fan of the books. The Witch King of Angmar's name is not Minas Morgul, Minas Morgul is his stronghold.
Fearalex I havent played this scenario yet but i wana tell u that it looks pretty good. But as Lord_raganar says his name is Witch King of Angmar. The map looks fantastik. Since im a bit of LOTR fan ive been looking for a Minas Tirith scenario and ive finally found it! Thx for doing a Minas Tirith scenario, ive been waiting a while.

Thanks for pointing out the error but i don't think it's worth re- submitting the map because of a minor error.
Thanks anyway
WL_D.
Lord_Raganar I apologize if you find my comment disrespectful but that was not at all my intention. And I must say that you are being quite defensive. I merely stated that it bothered me that there was an error and then I said what it was. I did not pick or critisize anything about your map or anything. I am sorry if you found what I said harsh but I did not intend it to be that way I just wanted to correct something that was wrong about the story.

This scenario is the most impressive i've EVER seen! It's so amazing! It would take me years to do such a thing! But there is one thing that really, reeaaaally bothers me. Somethings wrong with my computor or something, because the last troops doesnt attack, they just stand still. That's a minus in the playibility. Balance isn't that good either according to me...
The rest is just awesome. I don't think i need to say more. Love the map design, the creativity... Pure gold! XD
