Hey this is my first ever map.Personally i think that for action its very intense and is a fairly decent straight invasion scenario. I know it was slightly unbalanced but i think ive sorted out some of the kinks. I always thought that someone ought to produce a more epic version of the the LOTR TT battle for Helms Deep so here it is. I think that for its looks and scale its one of the better Helms Deeps and if you like defending you should enjoy this, its on a fairly big scale. If youve got any comments and can get back to me with any suggestions that would be great. I recommend you download it if only to see the map it took me a while and im pretty chuffed with the layout of the castle. Hope you like it.
Man, I'm very sorry for this, I understand thatit is your first map but really... it's terrible... The stronghold map editor and game engine will not ever let you do any complexe maps so this is an advice to all map makers... don't try to make helmes deep maps 'cause you will surely fail to do a good one... use your imagination (untill Stronghold 2 arrives)

Advice: if you're going to make a map based on a movie, watch the movie and pause it when you see the castle. Then copy the castle.

The Dragonheart, I should point out that Lord of the Rings is a trilogy of books, and I don't believe they had any illustrations of locations or castles. They so captured the imagination that many through the years have expressed visually their interpretation of many scenes described in the books, even to the extent of creating them on film. But they are all subjective concepts by someone other than the author. Unless someone sets out to recreate a scene from a movie, I don't believe a map should be judged by it.
