... as the lord and the people present in the throne room were sitting worried about the failure of the siege on Alup, one of the most important enemy outposts and the main thorn that stood in their way to progress an old man rushes into the room. The guards try to stop him.
old man: "You will listen to an old man that brings you news of the siege... or would you prefere to throw me out of the city..."
Lord: "Leave him alone..."
old man: "Thank you, my lord, you have to hear the last things I have heard about the army sent to the City of Alup!"
Lord: "What's the use of that... tell me ... it is all gone... all over... they will probabily start an offensive tomorow... we can't fight, can't run, can't beg for mercy either..."
old man: "stop licking your wounds Phillip, for it is not blood that keeps a real king alive... it is hope and bravery..."
Lord: "How dare you..."
old man: "No...I see you don't know what happened tho the city of Alup..."

Alup is one of these maps, where your first thought might be: How can I beat this thing, or how can I wipe out this well-guarded hostile Lord behind thick walls and towers? In view of the complex fortifications with a strong garrison, the enemy might hold all the trumps. After two or three unsuccessful attempts, I’ve found the solution: There’s an efficient and simple, but a relatively time-consuming strategy that would eliminate your opponent without any severe casualties.
Playability:
Though restrictive and one-sided military activities are the focus of attention in this scenario, I would rate playability on a high level, because there are many various offensive tasks for each type of your military units, even for ladder men…
Balance:
I think that the initial high number of your forces is generously fixed. I myself registered about 18% casualties and if I advanced more carefully, there surely would have been less than before. The starting strength of the player’s troops might be halved thoroughly, and then you still would be victorious without any difficulties.
Creativity and Map Design:
Once again, Leaveyou presents us an excellent mixture of an imaginative castle design, of a well-thought concept and of a “good nose” for varied creations, which put you to the test with all your skill.
Story:
Well, I know, it’s always a hard job to slip a figurative idea in a suitable story. The author with all due respect tried to give his best and it is worth for 3.5 (I'll round up) points in my opinion.
Overall, it’s a nice invasion-map classified as a siege scenario. I really enjoyed playing and I suppose that some inexperienced players will find it too hard a nut to crack…
Well done, Leaveyou!

How fun is this map? Very fun indeed. Its exactly the type of map I like, a long seige attack using a smallish sized army. Well, the army isnt that small, and the 70+ crossbowmen are useful attacking the towers from the ground. I liked playing this all the way through to victory, with only 2 start overs. Make your engineers into shields when you move around, because its dangerous walking around inside. I took off a half point because the center castle island area's troops dont really fight realistically. I think its because they are set on defensive. But it seems a little easy to sneak up and kill them one by one.
Balance: 5
This is perfect. There are some hard battles here, and you can attack from either side. But with a little practice, a experienced player should be able to get in the castle without too much loss of life.

This map is spetacular. I liked the island in the middle of the castle's own lake. And that ballista is a killer in that tower as you cross that river crossing across the lake. If you dont successfully destroy that tower by the lake with siege equipment, you will not get anywhere on that side by rushing alone. If you attack on the left where the three towers are, then you can bombard and take them out. But the map has unique features, the keep area is nicely done. Its a shootout with four towers of crossbowmen. I felt confident when I started attacking the keep, but found out that those swordsmen in the keep are tough, then worried that I wasnt going to make it!
Map Design: 5
This map is a good one everybody. Look for the pictures of the final days in the miscellaneous files. Its a zip file with 3 screenshots during the last part of the battle. Great job on the map.
Story/Instructions: 4
If the story was longer and more complete I would give this a 5. Otherwise good fictional work.
Additional Comments:
Nice job on the map! This is a map that I will play again. Leaveyou needs to send in more maps, if they are this quality!

This map is extremely fun to play. I played it about 5 or six times immediatley after downloading it. This is easily the best invasion map ive ever played for crusader. I found the map very challenging and exciting, and thats exactly the way I like it. Also new tactics are available each time you play. Fantastic!
Balance: 5
The map, in my opinion is perfectly balanced. So I wont deduct points here for no reason :P It appears to have been fully play tested for this, and it works perfectly. Great job!
Creativity: 5
There are so many different and clever uses of stronghold terrain and buildings here. This map would be a 5 from me in eye candy. The author implemented so many elements of design in this map that are all worked in perfectly. Brilliant!
Map Design: 5
A lot of the design work here is so inspirational that I gave a shot at implementing it into my map. 5 for a flawless castle and map design! :D
Story/Instructions: 4.5
The story was a bit brief, but meh... We play stronghold for the game ;) I wouldnt like to hurt the score too much for this outstanding map, as I know storyline is not incredibly important, and there was enough for me to understand the gist of the scenario. Good!
Additional Comments:
Brilliant map, I loved the proffesional level design work. The scenario was well planned and made, and the author deserves a lot of credit for his/her hard work. It is unfortunate, but I cant give you a perfect score, as the review guidelines ask me to asses all areas fairly. It was not bad, but especially for invasion scenarios, it needs to be longer. Great work! Make another one this good with a longer storyline, and you will probably get a perfect score of 5 from me. Keep up the outstanding map design,
