The Conquest X -

This is the final map in the Conquest Series, where you must take your revenge on the Wolf who invaded your lands and killed your father. Now has he come for the time where he must pay!

The victory on the edge of the Westfold hills signalled a new era for islands of Hertoin. The Wolf's armiers had mostly fled and news was spreading of the imminant fall of the Wolf's empire. Having joined with his old advisor Sir Longarm Prince Edward began his final march North to see an end to the Wolf for good.

The catapults have been firing all morning and the once so elegant and high walls of Gelladrin are falling into rubble. The main gate has collapsed with a might crash and the trumpets are sounding for the first attack. As the first wave of pike men and mace men go forward it a score of cavalry ride out to meet them in battle. The gate may be down and the walls weak but this final siege is far from over. You must take command and seal the victory agianst the Wolf!

The Conquest in general follows the path of Prince Edward and many other characters in their conquest for peace in the islands of Hertoin. The first five maps will be set in Sallium and the last five in Dinlathia. As well as the prologue video which can be downloaded here there will be a epilogue video.

WARNING - This map must be played on the EASY setting for it function with full playability and balance.

Map Design5.0
The conquest X: A very good ending of a very good series.

Playability: 5/5
This is the kind of siege that never gets boring. There is always an other method to use.

Balance: 4/5
Well I have tried many times and on my best approach I managed to survive untill the great stair up to the citadel where my last man was killed. If I manage to win this map I'll pop in and change score to 5 for balance.

Creativity: 5/5
Once again a very creativ mab that shows that you have both worked very hard to produce this fine scenario.

Map Design: 5/5
As always there is not very much to say about the landscape.
You use the sort of "rocky" style that often use.

Story/Instructions: 4/5
The story was good but just a bit to short and I didn't find the hints very useful. I.e. Nothing I couldn't think out myself

Overall: 4.6 / 5
Once again a great map from the NATs. A very fun and well worned out scenario. Congratulations.

Conquest X

Is the final chapter in what has proved to be an exhilarating and monumental journey of heroism. This final installment sets up a classic situation where you are forced to wage war on the city of Gallidrim, home of the deadly Wolf who killed your father so long, long ago. It’s the beginning of the end and history it seems is in the hands of the believer. Conquest X stands tall, in every department and is a delightful example of map making, scenario and story telling skills. This climatic siege is a fascinating end to the series and befits the many hours of strategic game play that has gone before it. Conquest X is a worthy entry into Stronghold Heaven hall of fame (that’s of course if they had one :).

So why is this map good?

I think because of a couple of things. Firstly it is a very playable map played in an environment believable and realistic. Secondly the map has balance and a good feel about it.
I’m not normally one to play sieges and I wouldn’t say that I was actually any good at them, but Conquest X if you haven’t played is a cool map of this type. I also have no doubt it’ll keep you more than occupied whilst involved in it. Overall the game play is addictive and entertaining and you wont feel satisfied until you’ve killed the Wolf.
Map design is excellent and the city is very well created, the outer wall is delightful and the steps leading up to the Wolf are strong and demanding and give the map the majestic feel that carries the story well. To close, Conquest X is a beauty – don’t play Stronghold II

All the best, Andy
