Your Lord has sent you, with all of his confidence, to conquer, with the help of some of his closest comrads, a land rich in ressources, where he will be able to expand his empire.
You have clear orders, to destroy any opposing forces, until no resistance is left from all whom opposes you. It won't be a pretty sight, given the fact open terrain, where everything is vunerable, and death counts will be high. This will surely be a nightmare for the weak, and the squeamish
Will you be able to carry on this ruthless task?
I suggest that you play this map with FIRE ALLOWED, which really spices up the game, because all of the buildings at the center are very close, which brings more drama at the game.
Good Gaming,

Playability: 4
If I could give this a 4.5 I would. Its a great map with plenty of playability. Maybe a little too much, because the fight over resources in the center sets a fast pace. You must keep the center patrolled to keep anything of value from being destroyed. Hence the name Endless Nightmares.
Balance: 3
This is hard to quantify here because its a eight player map, and those are hard to test fully. I have only played one eight player game with all eight human players showing up and not quitting. The lag was so bad that we stopped early. But if you played 8 human players on this map at one time, they would find the resources quite scarce indeed! But that is why the map is called Endless Nightmares, there are a lot of headaches getting resources.
Creativity: 4
Dark Knight keeps kicking out the good maps and getting it done! He is capable of putting together a basic idea (resource fight) and keep it 8 player, and get a well rounded map. I like it, but I have liked other maps of his more, hence the 4 rating. But, this is another rating I would give a 4.5 if I could.
Map Design: 5
My orignal thought on map design was a 4. But since I stated above that I wanted to give 4.5's on some others, I gave you a 5 here. Keep up the quality work and orignal ideas.
Story/Instructions: 5
8 player maps are hard to think up good stories for becuase of the variety of play that can happen on the map. This is especially true if you are playing with just one human and computer opps. But because of the quality of work here, I gave story a 5 even though it wasnt a Pulitzer.
Additional Comments:
Dark Knight keeps the creativity up without sacrificing quality. Download and play this good map for all kinds of fights.

Thanks Lollard for the review, and yeah, its expected that it'll lag, with 8 players. But thses kind of maps, can be played with a couple of humans, maybe up to 4, 2 on each side, and fill up the rest with computers. In fact, thats what I would recommend. But hey, if you can get it to play well with 8 humans, without it laging, don't waste your time playing with computers, get out there and play with 8 humans ;).

I would like to download maps, but I'm coming across a dilema.
I don't know how. When I get the pop-up that says open, save, cancel, should I open it or save it? I tried opening it (like I did with the three new AI and that worked out fine) and when I double-clicked on the file, nothing really happened except that the loading screen with the 'caculating' came up. And then nothing. No pop-up with 'unzip' and the other buttons (I just clicked 'unzip' for the AI and that went fine) or anything, making me rather helpless. I went onto the game, but the map wasn't there. So should I do something else after opening it or should I just save it to a specific location? This isn't a problem with any one map on here. I just need to know how to get them onto the computer!
Thanks in advance. |

Well emperor du sing, so it seems that you have tryed to 'open' the file. This is what I would suggest you do, for this is what I do when I download a map:
-When you click on download, and the pop-up appears, click on save, and save it in the directory you want to. You can just save it on to your desktop for now. Thats what I recommend.
-When the download it complete, close the pop-up if it doesnt clos by itself, and find the zip file on your desktop of the map. So for this for, it should be Endless Nightmare.zip, or close to that. Open the zip in question.
-Select the .map file, and simply right click and 'copy'. Now, WITHOUT CLOSING THE .ZIP FILE FOLDER WINDOW( very very important), open a second window, and find the directory for Stronghold Crusaders, either in Program Files, or Documents and Settings, depedning on your computer.
-find the map subfolder, and paste the map in that subfolder.
If you cant paste the map, ( nothing appears to be pasted), make sure you have the maps' .zip folder open during the copy/paste part.
hope this help you abit. If this doesn't help thoug, you can post a thread in the forum,to ask questions.
