Playability: 1
This scenario only reveals what you need to do in order to win when you launch the game. Based on the normal difficulty setting taken from the Download Description Page, you have a vast number of economic criteria to meet, such as over 400 iron ingots, 500 stone and on top of all this a population of 500 to feed, house and generally offer jobs to. I did not complete this scenario as I feel it is unplayable, intrinsically flawed and impossible to win. The pre-built castle has limited functionality, many of the structures redundant in the game and taking up valuable space. There is no marketplace: this has to be an essential requirement in a scenario as vast as this tries to be, because if you fill up your stockpile with goods that aren't needed, it is highly possible that you will not have space to store the goods that you DO need in order to win. I suspect that the scenario hasn't been playtested.
Balance: 1
See above. There is a limit to what you can hope to achieve by playing this scenario. Serious concerns over the integrity, potentially unplaysble and unbeatable.
Creativity: 2
Limited to some small and basic eye candy tricks. Creativity could be increased and justified IF the scenario has been playtested and is beatable, given the huge economic goals to meet. As it is, after placing a few buildings there isn't much of a challenge to face.
Map Design: 1.5
Poor, i'm afraid. The landscape has few redeeming features, modelled using large brush sizes and takes on a haphazard appearance. Not pretty, certainly not wonderful, but potentially functional.
Story/Instructions: 1
No story, no instructions to the player, nothing contained in the zip file. No score permittable.
Additional Comments:
May, just may, be playable and winnable. I suspect that the scenario can't be beaten though. One for someone with a lot of time on their hands. I'd be interested to receive the author's comments on the above issues.
