This is the first chapter in the story of Reif, a young prince who has set out to establish a new colony. He has just landed on the beach and is now charged with establishing a base camp. The scenerio is short, but action is fast-paced, since natural dangers compound the troubles brought by natives who do not welcome the intrusion into their land.
Subsequent chapters will be added based on responses to this first installment.
Playability: 5
Nice old map. Im not sure if the author is still active on these boards, but this person had potential. I think today this person would have got at least one rating or comment that would have allowed them to finish their Odessey. It bothers me that only one of these maps were made. Its fun to play, and doesnt have a market which I normally require for a 5.
Balance: 4
Balanced enemy invasions, with a large but not crushing attack at the end. There is a animal presence, and you need to make all your weapons so you need to pay attention to where the animals are in the beginning.
Creativity: 3
Orignal idea with the Odessey and chapters. If the author ends up reading this (its four years old) they should make that next map of the Odessey. I like the simple but interesting style.
Map Design: 3
Rolling hills with a lowland fetile field. There is no lord killed lose condition. A little too many bears make it tough with no market and no starting weapons. But all around fun and this could easily be a 4 with just a few modifications.
Story/Instructions: 4
I'm giving this a bonus because the author never got any comments or ratings in four years. I think that is wrong, so this gets a 4.
Additional Comments:
Offical Lollard's "Thumbs Up" for this lost gem. Unfortunately the budding author didnt get any word on how cool his/her work was, and another map was not made.
