I have tried different techniques to make the enemy strong enough to defeat it. I have tried having them attacking with several armies at once, but it seems there is a limit of how many units can invade at one time so i have set the invasions to be repeated for six years. However some of the units that are supposed to be part of the invasion force never shows up, for example, their siege equipment.
Anyways this map is wonderful, i love this city. It is the first map i have created and it will probably be the last. It is really fun to play, try it, and see if you can use the editor to make the invasion force stronger somehow.
Good luck!

Thanks for your comments Steele.
What happens when they brake through one of the gates is that they will send through all their troops and keep sending probably thousands of troops since they are really stupid and the invasion keeps going on for 6 years (!). The hole makes a bottle-neck effect and any troops that come through are ultimately killed by the heavy plate armored swordsmen waiting for them inside. Some of your swordsmen will die in the battle but since the city's production is quite strong and efficient, you can easily raise at least 2 swordsmen for every swordsman that die. This made me think that it's probably impossible to make an AI army strong and smart enough to ultimately win. This map should probably be played in multiplayer so that the poor, attacking soldiers dont have to commit suicide by order from their totally stupid AI-commander. Is it possible to convert a map to multiplayer?
And the market, yes.. Since I imagined this city to be one of the biggest in the world at that time, I thought that the Lord probably has plenty of powerful contacts with whom he might trade. But its probably a good idea to take away some of the tradable items, didnt think of that.
And the huge amount of gold yes.. The city has something like 350 very happy inhabitants that gladly pay lots of tax! ;) The Inn coverage is almost 100% and there are lots of churches and "good things" that make everybody happy. There is also a great production of food, though not great enough to solely supply all the inhabitants. But since its really cheep to buy food and wheat from the market you can make everyone even more happy by offering extra rations and plenty of different food types. In conclusion it is really easy to raise 30 000 gold pieces quickly.
Hints — good idea. I should probably add some hints to what should be done in the beginning.
"I think you're a great map editer!" thanks! =) Its just that I did spend quite some time on this map and people are already angry at me for spending too much time playing computer games.. ;)
So this city is really huge? I havent played many other maps available on Stronghold Heaven. I tried to reach a population of 400 but that would make me expande beyond the already built walls. 350 will be enough. If you have enough weapons and set all production to sleep, you can raise a huge army in an instant.
I think alot more could be added to the map and was kind of hoping that someone would edit the way they like it and post it or send it to me ;)
wow that actually looks quite impressive. i'll dl it

the map was VERY huge and even though that your walls are thick, but the gatehouses and towers are very easy to be destroyed if you don't send out your knights and take out their siege equitments. Even though that the enemy attacks seems small but the siege equitments can really do serious damage to your castle.
Balance: 3
I took out 2 marks because in the market, you can buy everything! Also at the start of the game you have A LOT of money, so you can just keep on buying crossbow and leather to build crossbowmen.
Creativity: 5
It's fun to play a huge map and you don't see huge city maps that often.
Map Design: 4
The map design was great exept you can put more stuff on the ground rather than just some trees. Also it is hard to build a huge city like that, so good work.
Story/Instructions: 4
You've made a story and told people what to do, but you could of add some stuff like hints.
Additional Comments:
The map was very big so if your computer suck,(like mine about 256 RAM and 1.2GHz speed) your computer will be laggy when you're moving around.
Also some people who are afraid of HUGE maps,(like me again) will be confused at the begging and don't know what to do.
Why did you said this will be your last map? I think you're a great map editer! you should make more maps!

you may want to put some detail such as hills outside the castle.

My computer has 500mhz and 384 mb ram memory. And it didn't slow down when playing this map. So I don't understand your fear for big maps.
Just like that other guy said. You are a great map designer, you should make some more. Maybe start with litle maps so you can add more detail to de ground outsite the Castle.
