This map was designed to cover more aspects of the game than just the economic build up of a castle. Follow your King through a difficult start up period and help him earn the right to control the entire region. You will face more than just your usual economic bandits. In this mission you will also be faced with defending your King from invasion, and in the long run, it will be the Kings desire that you siege the enemy castle.

Playability - 5 - I had fun with this from the beginning to the end. It kept me interested and challenged at Hard.

Balance - 4 - The scenario was reasonably challenging but I did manage to win on my first attempt, I did wish the enemy lord was a little harder to kill off.
Creativity - 5 - This scenario had a creative map, story and the objectives and events were different from the norm in Economic missions.
Map Design - 5 - A beautiful and natural looking map which was a pleasure to look at while playing.
Story/Instructions - 4 - A well written and interesting story.
Just great. Got everything, just about. As said before, it wasn't difficult to complete on Hard, and it would be nice to have a tougher opponent, but it was far the most entertaining of the maps on here to complete. More please!

Playability - I gave this a five because it is challenging, but at the same time not forcing me to play at heroic levels or over and over to play if I am careful.

Balance - There are just a whole lot of things going on here that require attention, or you are toast. It is not a pure military campaign, nor is it pure economic, but you need to be reasonably good at both if you hope to succeed.
Creativity - I gave this a five because of the fast moving action and variety of challenges.
Map Design - I also gave this a five. It is a beautiful map with challenging crossings, nearby entrances, wonderful waterfalls, and well-designed castles.
Story/Instructions - I gave this a four. It was very well done, but I hold back fives for well done historical stories or just the most highly creative of stories.
By the way, I think this is my first review, I am sorry to say. But an excellent scenario to start. Bob, I have a bit of a personal complaint about a very untimely visit by the Rat while I was otherwise occupied! Luckily, I left a substantial force behind to deal with him, but moving between both was very challenging. The timing was astonishing.

This is a map that doesn't lose it's spark as the mission progresses. Extremely fun.
I thought the enemy attacks really kept this interesting. It was well balanced and enough to keep you on your toes. I did beat it my first time through and without too much trouble.
I liked the story, map, and the goals of the scenario were well balanced as well. I liked this since it is not the typical economic mission goal-oriented map.
Map Design: 5
I loved the map. There isn't much in the way of eye candy, but the terrain is very natural looking and good attention to detail is shown. I really liked the castle layouts as well. The landscape is not average by any means, and that just adds to the enjoyment.
I'm pretty particular when it comes to a good story, but this was decent and I have no real complaints. It's just not a 5 in my books since it didn't grab my attention. Halfway through the mission I had already forgotten the storyline.
This scenario took me a looong time. I don't know how you did it the first time through. I like the very inventive story. And it's very challenging. I had to keep rethinking things like whether to attack the enemy sooner or later, whether to build outer temporary walls facing the eastern and western sign posts, etc. I liked it a lot. Thanks!

Playability - A great scenario, very clicky throughout and with a fair bit of planning needed. A bit slow at the end while I had to wait to complete one or two economic goals, though.
Balance - Very nicely done, challenging but not too daunting (on 'Normal'). I'd have preferred more of a challenge in the enemy castle, perhaps, but strictly speaking, it's an economic mission, so it gets a 4.
Creativity - Brilliant, full of action and varied events. I kept looking forward to coming back for more.
Map - I love the intricate map, although I only used half of it. Would make a good multiplayer too. Only a 4 because I had to keep switching the orientation to see what was going on in production behind the trees. A nice challenge though :)
Story - I like the concept, and the dialogue - style of being introduced, but it was badly written, so gets a 3 from me.
