Yes, I know, it's been a while since I last submitted a map. The first map of the story can be found at http://stronghold.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=2676

----------------------------------------------------

4, Jan. 1085,
Journal of King Michael II
Almost twenty years since I took the throne, has it really been that long? My father would have been in his fifties if he had lived this long, curse the Dukes and their incessant wars on my country. It was only three years ago that I secured the capitol, and I find myself already preparing for war again, this time in a different province. War is not all I must prepare for though, I must also introduce religion to these peasants, already there have been churches built, and already they call me "The Holy King" but I have deeper reasons for introducing religion to the masses. My father was never a religious man, and I shudder to think of where he might be now in the afterlife. But enough of bleak thoughts, there is war to prepare for! The granaries and the coffers are full, but the weapons need making and due to some recent rockslides the castle needs fortifying. There is not much time to accomplish everything...

-----------------------------------------------------

Our story picks up 19 years after King Michael's father died and after he secured his home province of Maerlionac. He is now 36 years of age and in the province of Altenia. In the relative saftey of a mountain keep he waits for the inevitable attacks from his enemies, the Dukes. He is also planning to introduce religion to the peasants, partly to keep them happy and compliant, and partly in fear of the afterlife and his own mortality.

A few things to note:
This map can be hard the first time depending on what you do so beware of that...and don't be a cruel king, trust me, it won't work out very well...

Please rate this map, and if you like it, some of my other maps. Especially Succession of Maerlioc and Brinewood as I have been waiting quite a while on ratings for both of them...

This map was very enjoyable, and I don't say that much, it's not often i have 100+ stone at all times... I also liked my group of pikemen that i used to pop out of the gate and attack the people destroying it.

Balance: 3
Well it was a little easy, I beat it on the first try and I'm average skill. With so much stone, food, ect I could just box myself in by filling the gate area with solid wall (didn't) though i was scared when they got through the blockage i put at the rockslide, and it let me soon make 100+ pikemen. Getting 50% blessed was easy with 100 stone and 20000 gold. If you want to get rid of some cash just play it, buy tons of iron, destroy stockpile, repeat _X, and sav-to-map trick.

Creativity: 4
Nice to see a sort of cave map that is well done. I liked the bowl idea and the rockslide was creative (though annoying)and the wall of stockpiles was interesting.

Map Design: 4
Nice landscaping overall I think with a nice gate area (I'm not the best with castle design) with a large functional Mountain city.
Story/Instructions: 4
You had more story than some (they had a 3) and you had less then some (they had a 5). I'm not a english teacher.

Additional Comments:Nice to see you designing again. If you have time check out some of my maps (You don't have to) and keep it up!
