Playability:
I never felt so eager for chopping trees as it happened in this interesting map by Mish. Yes, wood is of the essence here, and you have to pull all stops in view of a victorious achievement of all demanded goals. I needed several restarts until I found an effective strategy to get rid of those watchfully defending crossbowmen awaiting your approach and targeting all your hunters/peasants who are passing by within reach.
Just one constructive comment: How about reducing the bread goal? I think 3000 loaves should be enough to avoid boredom towards the end.
Actually, there’s no need of a market place as it’s impossible to trade anything. Pole turner’s workshops are also unnecessary, because you’re not allowed to recruit spearmen or pike men for any military tasks.
Balance:
In my opinion, it’s a perfect balance between military and economic requirements/aspects that you are faced with. You need all your skill to manage this challenging situation in the beginning getting over these apparently impenetrable enemy walls.
Creativity:
I appreciate such an impressive and creative work inspiring me to create maps like that from a different view with refreshing ideas.
Map Design:
It’s an almost flat and not spectacular map design, but very efficient in order to set up a brilliant concept. However, I’ve been wondering if these iron deposits northwest to the keep aren’t useless as there’s no chance to exploit them. Also this garden full of palm trees enclosed by a simple rectangular stone wall might have a temple or anything else in the centre.
Story:
One of the weaker parts, alas. I missed a more detailed description and some imaginative thoughts/explanations of the objectives (e.g. amount of bread, ale consumption etc.) maybe in short words but to the point.
Overall, it’s a nice and very enjoyable eco-map. Keep up the good work, Mish!

Thank you very much!
I read the opinions
I have to say some things:
the history is the part I like less....I don't know, I don't find it so important and it's quite hard for me inventing a story
For the other parts, remember that this an upgrading of a previous map, at first I had thought to create a new map but then I decided to mantein the original one, so the castle is always the same....I had thought about putting something else, but for this would be necessary a new map with a new castle maybe a bigger one....I was afraid to fail the balance of the map
anyway for the little changes you suggested, you can change on your own computer and play as you like (I mean the quantity of bread and stuff like that)
I really apreciate it, it's the higest point I receveid in a rewiew
I think that this map allows to create "strange map" I'm not good in inventing incredible castles with invasions, I alwasy try to put something "particular", strange and funny
For this I recomend you my map (maybe under a different name but it's mine) "Burn everything!" that I think is very very funny
Thx![Edited on 07/05/06 @ 07:37 AM]

Minimalism and maximalism. The first edition of this map is from 10/14/04. This second one turned out harder because the mountains in the west block this area for antilopes. So in the first part most the hunters are shot on this small sized map. For quite a long time one just has to wait until enough gold is raised to recruit mercenaries.
The fighting then is exciting: Which combination of Arabian units works best to keep the xbows busy and wipe them out?
The second part brings an "explosion". More and more people, buildings, and accumulated goods.

Can't be won as the needed amount of wood ( 2000 ) can't be stockpiled in the 8 squares of storage yard available .( max is 1536 ) |

This sounds like you ran into a regular limit: one can have "only" 8 stockpile parts which are completely e m p t y. So, if you spend all your original wood and add 7 parts to the original stockpile, you'd have to wait for at least a single bit of good before you can add a further new stockpile part. |

Right. I apologize , I didn't know about this feature , seems the same whith granaries ( further all granaries in the block need an access to be filled ...).No more problem ( except that cleaning the Xbowmen whith a sarracen balista is too easy ...).
