General Story-
-Lord Alvod and his subjects are moving south, following a pattern that his family has been following for generations. The North lands his father and mother ruled over have become too cold and harsh to live in. The new lands he moved to are much warmer and they are beautiful. However, he has unkowingly stepped into an area with settlements hostile to outsiders. He finds this out before too long, and now he must stake his claim by his blade.
File Notes-
-Included in this zip file is a minimap, a campaign map, the complete version of the story, and the actual level.
Author's Comments-
-My first submission to this site. I hope that you all enjoy it. I particularly like those little streams. They were a lot of fun to make. Also, for those looking for hints, move as fast and efficiently as you can, and don't be afraid to improvise!
Reviews y/n?-
-Yeah sure. Any reviews would be great.

Nice landscape.
But you can't place the dairy farms anywhere, the terrain is not flat enough... |

Playability: 5
It's limited in space so you'd better start choppin' down those trees now! Some wolves might also be tempted to turn you into dead meat...
Limited space, limited buildings, limited economy, archers & spearmen vs spearmen and archers, Nice.
Balance: 4
Pretty good, enough time to rush to settle your economy before the first invasion, some wolves, maybe a few more could do...
Creativity: 4
Well, it feels a bit like playing stronghold for the first time again...
Map Design: 5
Very nice.
Story/Instructions: 5
Nice story, what else to say?
Additional Comments:
Played on very hard setting and won with 15% losses. |

Thanks! Technically this isn't my first level, but it's my first submission. I've been making lots of other levels on my own for a few years now. I only found this place recently. Actually, I can't really remember what my first level was...I need to do some digging around. |

All by yourself? For years? I've had the game for a few years but I hardly ever touched the editor. Anyway, keep it up...or else...
If only I had found this site a few years ago...

Alone? Well, almost. There was my brother (and that's it. No one else had even heard of Stronghold), but really he and I kept seperate with our level designing, and he never started playing the game for a while after we bought it in the first place. Anything that we made and showed each other ended up in disaster because we would get mad at each other for criticizing each others' levels...not to mention my brother made the most bizzare things in the editor, that really had no objective, and they didn't look good either, etc....although, he did seem to enjoy doing that a lot, so good for him I guess. He's more on the serious side now.
Years? Well...uh...yeah, basically...I can't remember how many exactly, but I think at least four or three.
Don't worry about me stopping making levels. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon ; ) . |

Just to let everyone know, in case for some reason they might be interested, I have NOT fallen off the face of the Earth. I am still alive, but my next Stronghold levels are still in the making. Having to playtest over and over has kept my next levels from being introduced. One was too hard, so I made another one to get my mind off of it. Then both were too hard, so I went back to the other. Then that one was too easy, but I wondered if it would be easy for first time players since I had played the map so so many times. So...really it's an onging disaster. If anyone wants to playtest the first map I made (I mean, the first one mentioned in this comment), I'd be glad to give them the file.

EDIT: Nevermind. I got them both done.[Edited on 09/08/06 @ 06:58 AM]
