Wyre - A Warm Welcome

Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Difficulty: Normal
Minimap:
All had gone well gathering the supplies needed for a shipment back home. Your settlement has grown as well as popularity with local villagers. While your scouts have again yet to find any sign of a query, they have stumbled upon a settlement far to the south west. Of course there lies the problem.

Without having the time to establish contact troops have been assembled and begun marching for the village. It seems the Wolf has known about us more than we have him. A messanger has been sent to your King, the resources must be used here to defend our settlement instead. We still need to continue to build more towers around our keep for defense. Additional arms will also have to be produced.

Thankfully you have a decent amount of food and stock resources, but they will not provide every thing you need. You're now able to purchase other goods from your market, however the only arms merchant we've found sells bows only. With no time to waste, you should start production of military and defenses.

Suggestions/Comments:
* Use Hard/Very Hard difficulty setting.
* Game was tested and built for max game speed.

I can use all the suggestions I can get with the difficulty of the mission. I didn't want to make it too hard, nor too easy of course. I did a lot of play testing, it seems to be a fun map on easy and harder settings alike.

Cheers, hope ya like!

I enjoyed this map, it is fun to play but not hard (quite easy actually).. I played the map on hard mode like you said and half way through I laid back and rested because I destroyed the workshops and brought all the troops I could and put them in position and let the enemy attack and they didn't even touch the wall. I used a few pitch defenses and replaced them because the enemy liked to walk along that path and I am a pyromaniac so I enjoyed doing that :) I even placed a whole line of pitch and put loads of spearmen on it and set it on fire >:D

The enemy decided to walk up the hills instead of attacking the wooden (barricade?) gate but still decided to shoot at the bowmen on the platforms.
Sometimes the enemy engineers would place siege tents too close to your walls that they wouldn't be able to reach it in time without being killed :p

You get alot of gold and weapons to start with and nearly all you need is already built for you and comparing with the amount of troops you get it would be better if the enemy troops had much bigger invasion forces to even out the odds.

Well the bridge leading to the other island was a better idea than just making land to it or ford :p
Also I see you tried to make a small outpost. So this nets a 4.

I love the hills, very nice use of the equalizer tool. Also I like the way you used small bushes in your map, and the terrain around the hills was great.

Story/Instructions: 5
I'm liking the storyline and the story this time just made me want to play the campaign through again :p

Additional Comments:
I can see a really good map designer here. You just need to remember not to place as much buildings and give so much weapons and gold to start with. Also work abit more with some eye-catching features on your maps :)

Thank you greatly! I now have a better idea of how to play on the dificulty. I'm supprized the map got a 4 raiting.

I didn't like the idea of using two maps twice, but since the first time it was used was on a free play.

Thanks again!
