------------------------------------------
As I walked through the endless desert, treading over the forgotten burials of people long gone, I began to travel also between the planes of reality and fantasy. What I saw was the past, or what used to be the past, now that the past is present and what was the present is now the future. Then I saw in my eyes the age of kings and thier soldiers, wait, no! Hearken to the sight of stone and wood and the odd structures and the odd technologies and perhaps the odd water and plant. Is this real? Can this be my salvation? Would this place repel the madness that consumed the whole world and set everything awry? Can this newfound strength destroy the King of the Underworld? Can it ever even hope to stay the hand of death and deliver what's left into peace?
No longer does my mind wander, now is the time to help those who have straggled. Now is the time to use what we cannot build, harvest what we cannot use and build from the few blueprints that were left. Now is the time to create a stalwart defense in the name of mankind. We fight in this age, to defend ages gone and ahead, and whoever marches toward us, be it Devil or man or anything let them know the meaning of veangence.
It has been one month since I have arrived at this settlement and it seems we are not alone. Not only we but evil and friend alike have taken root here, our friends in similiar fashion have trained themselves to use the old technology. They although, unlike us, know how to build walls and unlike us refuse to share thier secrets. Unlike us, because, we sell our excess stone so they may defend themselves. In a catalyst sequence the currency recieved speeds up the training of our fighting force and helps pay for the citizen's livelihood.
The evil, not surprisingly, has played around with thier nearly limitless resources to train thier underworld soldiers in the old ways of war to even the odds. They already have won, in mine and every similiar thinking person's eyes, it's a dangerous game to play a match with the Devil, more dangerous still to play games with a veangeful population. If they want a fair fight, they'll be sadly dissapointed.
Now the time for war has come and the time to prepare is over. Fight on comrades, fight through the waves of the enemy, fight through the waves of anguish, fight through and through for history itself!

Player's Notes- It's your decision on how to play this game, the two signposts conjure many different strategies for the computer. Each invasion is created for a specific purpose. Have fun and keep on fightin'!
Author's Notes- It was a pleasure to make this map, the minimap may look bad, but it's a small 200X200 map so it's eye for detail is greatly exaggerated. Good luck! |

Playability: 4.5
The map is made very well. You are hoplessly outnumbered and without almost any buildings to be built. The pith patches are the key to this map. Took me three tries to win this map, the first and the second tries my walls got breached by a ram and slaughtered everything.
Balance: 4
The numbers of attackers are a bit high because of the low number of archers, but the pitch patches even up the odds a bit.
Creativity: 4.5
Hm... I have never played a really small map where the enemy can come from ither side of the castle. That makes the map even better because you don't know where the heck is the enemy coming :)
Map Design: 4
Well, I think I'm out of comments here. Stone in the hills, plenty of grassland. You know what I mean :)
Story/Instructions: 5
The story is well written, I enjoyed it and the instructions are complete enough.
Overview:
The map is a good one for when you don't want to play a skirmish and want to play a well made invasion. Not just fighting here you have to think where to place pitch patches and how to distrivute your archers on to both sides of your castle.
A suggestion would be to allow the construction of walls... |

Thanks a bunch Lord Michael! But I'm afraid I cannot allow the construction of walls, I've played it with that on and trust me it's waaaaay to easy if done properly. |

Hm... well, part of the fun is that you have to manage how to defend your castle with the small amount of soldiers you have and the low availability of buildings. Yeah, It's better to leave it how it is. |
