The attack was sudden. Siege engines rolled, walls then crumbled and the Monastery was overrun. It was confusion, terror and a brutal butchery. Monks kneeling before altars were stabbed in the back, other deep in prayer lost their heads. Soon there were none left. As the last of the monk fell, a shadowy figure entered. The burning courtyard and surveyed the devastation It was dressed in black and wore a cloak. The bandits drew back fearfully as it turned to look at them. ”You have done well”, he said and they sighed with relief. “BUT NOT WELL ENOUGH!” he thundered,” THERE ARE MONKS ESCAPING! HUNT THEM DOWN! GO NOW”, as he drew his sword in a mad fury and ran the nearest through with it. “AND CAPTURE THE TOWN
“You must bring belief back; the monastery is destroyed “, said the dying monk, “bandits came, prepare, you are next, beware the wol…..”. He was dead. The scouts soon came back. It was, as they feared. The chief ordered a call to arms. They would fight and repulse the bandits, or they WOULD PERISH
EDIT:
I improved the events plus the balnce of the map. Everyone bfore the 40th dl must dl again sry
Playability: 3
Now i've played the map, and its decent. A very good first try. Its got playability but its a 3 because its not really that fun to play actually. Its too easy as commented in balance.
Balance: 3
A few of the invasion soldiers got stuck at the edge of the map. And those who actually attacked the castle I killed off easily. The wolves who attack the reinforcements are also killed easily. I waited for something to happen for a while (also strolling across the map to see the terraining) but eventually attacked the lord and won. Lost 25% of my soldiers.
Creativity: 3
Nothing too new. Reinforcements, monks and all that has been done before. But your own map, and some twists in the story deserves atleast a 3. And I must say, its a strong 3.
Map Design: 3
Yepp, its a 3 here as well. The terraining might use some work. It looks decent, but thats all. The ground maybe could use some more bushes, rocks, dirt, and rivers. Of course there is water here, but one thing about the river is that it suddenly turns to max height. A little square of water on the max height... where does it get water from? You must think as if it is real life. Try to make your terrain as realistic as possible.
The fortification would get the same response. I couldn't really imagine someone making such a fortification. It looks a bit wierd in some places, quite frankly.
But I love the enemy ruin. Of course not the best, but a good first try.
Story/Instructions: 3
I never really say much here. Its a well written story, but very small. Write some more, and it'll get perfect.
Additional Comments:
Good first map, I can see a promising new map designer here. Good luck on your future maps.
