The Black Protectors are preventing you from growing anything, anywhere on the oasis. You must find a way of feeding you people and improving your popularity before you peasants go elsewhere.
This is rated as "hard", but essentially it is not that difficult, if you can reduce their numbers from a distance. Some resources are within your reach, use them to your advantage.
please, check the scripting of your map once more;I experienced a sudden unexpected victory on January 1169; I assume it's not been your intention to finish the game without completing the ale goal.

This looks cool on the mini map but is one big high ground piled with enemy troops with very little landscaping other than the castle. Map plays fine. More detailing and time needed.

Playability: 4
This was a challenging map that required several tries before finally getting the right set of strategies to win. Probably not much replay value but definitely addictive trying to finish it. There was some frustration solving the the 2nd goal (as I played it) but ultimately satifying.
Balance: 3
It took some fine-tuning and subtlety of approach to deal with the enemy but once done, the dispatching was straight-forward.
Creativity: 5
I liked the placement of the enemy and how the "triggering" of attacks when a wayward peasant strayed into the "DMZ" caused collateral damage. Also liked the concept of the protectors.
Map Design: 5
Good central castle design and outlying areas and resources.
Story/Instructions: 3
Terse but understandable. The story when starting the map seemed misleading, suggesting that I had the option of two solutions when it appears I had to solve both requirements.
Additional Comments:
I couldn't stop playing until I had resolved this one. Thanks for making this map.

Thanks for the comments Sven, not bad for my second submission, and I was quite pleased with the way the map turned out.
It was supposed to be one or other with the tasks, as slight error I think with the scripts/design. I left the option for both elements to be complete instead of changing it to "any of".
This can be easily updated.... if anyone else would like this update I can surely do it...
I am however working on a sequel...lol

For some reason it lagged my computer...A LOT.
I don't know why, though. I've played maps with far more soldiers on them than this one.

For Crusader freaks only.
Squeezed into one corner of the map, at first.
After a rudinmentary village has been set up, time has to go by while you arev waiting for gold and troops.
After several attacks you can start removing the trees from the greeney and will place ever more hops farms.

The term "shooting fish in a barrel" comes to mind. Quite funny, though!
