Catterick Castle

Built to defend the strategic ford crossing the River Swale, Catterick is a prized possession of Steven the Red (The Pig). Catterick is the gateway to the north and is abundant with game and natural resources. His Grace, the Duke of York has dispatched you, Sir Neville, Bishop of Durham to take the castle. His Majesty plans to use the castle as a staging point for supplies and troops to be used in the invasion of Spartanburg.

Your task is simple, capture the castle and upgrade the existing wooden structure into a fortified stone castle. As the Bishop of Durham, you must also convert the heathen of this county and show them the light of God’s truth. Be prepared for a fierce counter attack from Steven the Red. He will be highly upset by the loss of the lucrative tax revenue generated by the river crossing. He will stop at nothing to maintain his hold on the castle.

Victory Objectives:

Complete the castle IN STONE
75% Blessed
3000 Gold
30 games years to complete

***Player Notes***

This is a strait forward invasion scenario without a lot of extra eco goals. My aim when designing this scenario is for you to replace the wooden Motte & Bailey with a Stone Castle which is how most of the great castles of England were constructed. You have 30 game years to complet your task. I hope you have as much fun playing this scenario as I have had creating it.

WarLord_Designs Great as usual :D look forward to playing this map.

Its really hard, a great challenge so far

The Pale Rider The first big invasion is almost certain death. I survived that but lost most of my economy/castle. Wolves and more invasions soon hit and wiped out any built up reserve or survivors. Will rate when I finish it, but I agree its hard.

Hang in there Pale Rider. It isnt as bad as you think - I didnt think it was that tough, in fact I was afraid it wasnt hard enough. I will be glad to give some pointers if you email me. This is very winable.

Castlefreak GREAT map! I hope to be able to take the time to make one like this eventullay.

(I'd like some help, how can you get the cede maps to work? i've made one that's just about done, i just have to figure things out as well as set up the invasions. I'll welcome any help.)

Go ahead and disregard the request in this post, i figured it out.

Sir Ravenclaw In my opinion, the sieging of cede maps is the hardest part.. It really pushes you to your limit..
surajsubba The siege part was rather easy. I had the macemen+1 horseman attack the castle from the West side of the map. But i wasn't prepared for the massive invasions that followed immediately.Hundreds of enemy troops were pouring in while i was casually looking for a good spot for quarries. I died on the first try. On the second try however, got my surviving macemen fill up the moat quickly reducing the game speed.Still the Invasions were HUGE.

A really exciting map.Oh! and i died on my second try again.
