The Eaolane Bailey
The wind howled through the trees, an unstoppable force of nature. It found its way through every hollow tree and every tunnel neath the ground. The animals stirred, awaked from their slumber. They shrugged, it was but the wind, a way of the world, something that comes and goes. For the people, however, gathered round their pitiful fires, shivering and shaking in the cold, it was as cold as the breath of death.
This wind, was in truth the breath of death. It brought death to the men and women of the Eaolane Bailey. It carried the scent of war, destruction and suffering. War reared its ugly head, in the form of the raiders of Calagaie. They were a brutal and desperate people in a harsh wilderness, some more akin to the wild beasts that share this territory with them than other men.
This year they had came down over the mountain steppes in increasing numbers. The passage of the mountains they have braved was the loss of many but there were still many more to take their place. They aim to take the Eaolane Bailey by force. Once done so, they can spread out on to the rich farmland, burning and pillaging as they go. The troops of the country, scattered over the region, shall be hunted down like rabbits and slaughtered. The kingdom will cease to exist.
Yet if they can hold the tide, the kingdom will be saved.
This map will be found too easy for some players. It is designed for either a mediocre player on normal or an average player on hard or very hard. It was one of my first real attempts to make a map. I’ve touched it up a bit but its still essentially the same. Go forth, cleanse the land from your enemies.

Playability: 4
A really great map. The siege wasn't the hardest, but then you did say it wasn't in the first place. Other than that, this map was really fun to play.
Balance: 3
Well, I'm kind of anal when it comes to this sort of thing. If I don't lose, on Very Hard, I don't like the map as much. I'm not going to say anything, though, because you said this wasn't supposed to be a hard map for a more advanced player.
Creativity: 4
I liked haveing to defend a wood castle for a change. Most of the maps on here, (most mind you, not all) are stone castles.
Map Design: 5
This was really nice. You made this map look and feel realistic. It looks like, in some areas, like you spent 50 days perfecting it.
Story/Instructions: 4
You had one, gave good background on the map, and the instructions were clearly defined.
Additional Comments:
All in all, a really great map. Definetly worthy of a 4 (a.k.a. excellent). Keep designing!
