The defeat at the outpost of St Michel comes as a shock. Long have you heard of this fort, well situated, and kept by a breakaway group of french crusaders. The religous fanatacism of this group has always shrouded this fort in mystery, and seen it given a wide berth by other europeans. Tales of ritual floggings, hangings, sacrifice and other strange practices had the fort feared by muslims and crusaders alike.
Now it lies in tatters, having been attacked day and night for weeks by moorish forces and is vulnerable to occupation. If it were to be captured, the resources it offered its previous owners would surely be a huge advantage in this sparse area of the holy land.
Already, lords from both sides have set up camp close to the outpost with their eyes set on the prize. Rumours that a small band of St Michel's soldiers still guard their sacred position do nothing to disuade would be conquerers.
There are enough resources nearby to survive on, but the fort offers opportunity to flourish. Time to take up your sword and see what you can acheive.
difficulty set to normal as the map is quite easy as a skirmish .... select hard opponants and set to computer advantage for a proper game ;)
Ooh! I love the look of those deltas from the minimap. I'll play and rate for ya.

Awsome! I played as suggested, and was hooked the whole way through. Almost everything worked as intended. Even when I took over the abandoned fort the enemies attention was diverted to my presence there. I chose the Emir and the Wolf as enemies and allied them both against me with a full computer advantage. The only thing keeping the score from a 5 is the fact that the wolf built up a large force but never once attacked. That's okay I suppose, because the Emir was a handfull to contend with anyways!
Balance: 5
I can't think of any way the balance could be improved. At first I thought giving no immediate stone or iron was going to a bad idea but you provided just enough resources to defend myself untill the fort could be taken over. Lots of wood, wheat, and ale production was key to keeping taxes up to get the upper hand

I'd give you a six if I could. I've never seen this concept before in a skirmish. It almost plays like an invasion. This maps tests a player's ecenomic skills as well as defense and attack strategies. Getting the mechanics of the gameplay right probably took a lot of experimentation. Very commendable.
Map Design: 5
Very polished looking, and enemies attacked from several different points, something that's hard to make the AI's do in skirmishes. Everything on this map looks hyper-realistic, from the deltas to the fort. You have an indepth knowledge of how skirmishes work too; the mechanics of the gameplay are virtually flawless.
Story/Instructions: 5
Great story. It fits right in with the map
