Mossflower Woods

Author File Description
Lord Tanthos
File Details
Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Minimap:
This map is intended to be a base for a future series of "historical" Redwall-based missions. I endeavor to make more maps such as this, since Redwall is my favorite book series. For now, build away and look at the sights.

Some who see this may look at the word Redwall and say "What the shnikees is that?" I'll give you a bit of introduction.

Redwall is a world created by English author Brian Jacques. This world is based off of English countryside terrain (for the most part) and vegetation. The major point of this world is that all the animals are human sized, talk, can hold things, and have equal intelligence to humans; in addition, all of the animals are native to England. Also to note: humans, horses, and cows are not there. Which will prepare you for a shocker--no knights can be made on this map! 8O

Now that you have recovered, I will explain how they produce cheeses and other such things. Just as we can get "Soy Milk" and "Soy Milk Cheese" they can get "Milksap Cheese" milksap is a plant somewhat like a milkweed from which they get a milk-like substance which Redwall animals make cheese from. That is why dairy farms are still allowed.

Another shocker--you cannot build hunters posts nor obtain meat--*GASP*!

This is simply because eating meat would pretty much equal cannibalism, and there are no deer in Redwall, sorry for not mentioning it earlier but I prefer to kill slowly--I mean gradually bring on the bad news.

Well, have fun building upon the Mossflower woods. If this map is enjoyed I will release a series of "historical" Mossflower woods maps and may create more Redwall-based maps.

Knight of Russia Whoa, it seems as if you read my mind. Yesterday I started my 3rd Redwall book and decided to make it on Stronghold. I'll download it.

Gah...I think the pictures aren't working. Oh well, at least you can see them in the .zip folder! :)

Thanks for the review monkcrazy!

"must have taken you hours to make" ~ monkcrazy5
Longer than that, it took me days. 2 days 5 hours 21 minutes and odd number of seconds, actually, total. ^.^

And Knight of Russia...I have no psychic powers, I swear! Wait, brb, the phone's gonna ring in a minute.

I am currently working on a "historical" Mossflower map_pak. It will include the following missions on the same map:

Assault on Castle Kotir (1-player siege)
The Great Redwall Feast (Economic)
Germaine's Request (Economic)
The Rise of the Scourge (Invasion)

After which I may attempt building a new map, say the isles of Terramort and Sampetra, or the Great Inland Lake. For now, enjoy the Mossflower Freebuild! :)

Thanks Othello! If you want to play maps with Redwall Abbey prebuilt, I have made two other maps with the whole abbey constructed.

Sain't Ninian's Church is there in ruins down the path as you can see, waiting for someone like you to place a keep inside and rebuild it! :)

I'd love to do Salamandastron, to be sure...but without underground tunnels it would make it very hard to do with any degree of usefulness. In other words, there probably wouldn't be enough building space :-/
