Working for a Wicked Witch isn’t easy. You're constantly growing Poison Poppies, picking Poison Apples, making Witch’s Brew, and always worrying about being thrown into the dungeon. And lately the goody two-shoes of the world are making things worse.
You had a going business trading Poison Apples until the Good Witch of the North sabotaged your orchards. “Growing Poison Apples is not a nice thing to do”, she said, sweetly, and made her point by killing off all of your trees with a drought.
Your Poison Poppy crop suffered a similar fate, totally ruined by a snowstorm brought on by the same meddling do-gooder. Now you have to grow Poison Wheat instead.
You recently had to lay off your entire Witch’s Brew workforce because your hops farms were overrun with rabbits and your breweries wrecked by marauding bands of Munchkins. You’re going to have to rebuild everything from scratch.
The castle guards are no help. All they do is march back and forth, chanting “Oeh-Ee-Yah, Eoeh-Ah”, and it’s driving you nuts. The flying monkeys get into everything, and then there was the mysterious fire last year. Nearly burnt everything to the ground. You have a bucket of water in every corner of the castle now, just in case.
Your mistress has been in a sour mood for some time, and gets worse with every setback. Her rants and raves are becoming legendary. First she wants this, then she wants that, you wonder if she will ever make up her mind. And always she blames you for her problems.
Now Her Wickedness has started receiving disturbing reports from the east. Your spies say a little girl has mysteriously arrived on the scene and is terrorizing the region. She started by dropping a house on the Witch’s sister, and then stole her Ruby Slippers. She freed an entire village of stature-challenged locals and is now assembling a ragtag group of misfits for a march on Emerald City. So far she’s recruited a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodcutter, and a Lion of questionable internal fortitude. Oh, and a little dog, too.
Your boss has just set off to face this new threat. Her last words to you ring in your ears: “Get this mess fixed by the time I get back my pretty, or else!”
Now you have to figure out a way to meet her increasingly unreasonable and ever changing demands. . .
Note: This mission immerses you in a challenging task of resource management. But beware, it also contains a surprise, or maybe two. Length is 12 game/years, and plays approx. 60 mins.
Credits: I'd like to thank ultima_spock and lord_yoshi for their works on progressive objectives.

Thank you for the kind comments, I enjoy doing maps that are a little different than the usual. I wanted to do a map based on a fantasy movie but, since ‘The Lord of the Rings’ has already been done to death, I had to look elsewhere for inspiration. I hope I’ve created something everyone finds enjoyable.
The little girl and her little dog will be here shortly, just as soon as the flying monkeys get themselves organized. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
A little bit of trivia:
This scenario starts in May, 1938. During my research for this scenario I discovered that, on the Certificate of Death for the Wicked Witch of the East that the Munchkin Coroner presents to the Town Council, the date of death is listed as May 6, 1938. Since this scenario starts shortly after that event, I thought it would be appropriate.
That was also supposedly the 19th anniversary of the death of L. Frank Baum, the creator of the book series this scenario is based on! |

This mission is genious in its course and requires a LOT of thinking. Need many of hunters' posts to not only feed the people but to give extra rations for taxes and popularity. Excellent scripting with conditioned events and win conditionds whose objectives continue to become harder (bigger in quantity and more numerous). Could beat the map only on hard. |

Thanks for the feedback! Very encouraging.
I can't believe a sweet, innocent little girl could be causing so much distruction! She has to be either a good witch or a bad witch!

You can acquire all that is needed to complete the mission on very hard if not for a win timer. And who thought it as a good idea to have theif of grannier right before the timer ends. ty for that. ather wize its a very good map. |
