The European's army, diriged by is finally arrived in the Holy Land, in Nicée. Recently disembarked, they establish a camp surrounded by towers and mortals traps.
Godefroi de Bouillon and his men take a little village at the West, and build here a chapel with the help of the sword monks, who want to christianize Arab people.
However, in front of the European camp, an Arab army is behind the walls of Nicée, ready to defend the city, and to defeat the Christian.
Godefroi doesn't have a army as tall as the Arab army. Nevertheless, he decides to attack Nicee's suburb, and take them. This action deprives Nicee of supplying, who''l serve to the crusader for the siege.
Playability: 3.5 This is an ok map,my only concern is that it is too easy, once you have got rid of the enemy you can build to your hearts content.I feel that an invasion or two would help(say as reinforcements?)and a few'civilian'events like plague, fire and crop failure would help.
Balance: 3.5
Balance, again easy to complete,i trained about 30 x-bow men and let them loose on the enemy troops and population, then i sent in the avaliable swordsmen/pikemen to finish off the enemy lord(by the way-you should have the keep in 'camera-shot'so you can be certain your troops are attacking the enemy lord and not just standing around as if in 'hold ground' mode.
Creativity: 4
I enjoyed this despite a few basic flaws,it is amongst the few maps focussing on the first crusade.
Map Design: 4.5
The design is basic, but that shouldnt put people off from downloading this and other related maps (1)the editor for crusader has its design limits, which is why i have not uploaded any maps for crusader,i've stuck to SH1/SH2 and Legends,a few simple alterations such as placing scrub around oasis grass and thick grass would give more 'feel'good effort though.
Story/Instructions: 2.5 could have more depth for those not familiar with the first crusade.
Additional Comments:Overall an enjoyable but short mission.
