You are in command of a fortified military outpost on the fringe of civilization. Two weeks ago, scouts returned with word of a massive barbarian force on the march straight towards your position. You immediately sent out a runner requesting reinforcements knowing full well that no help will arrive in time. The last two weeks you and your men worked non-stop to strengthen the defences for the coming assault. Everyone, including yourself is exhausted but every man knows what the price of failure entails. Will all your labors be enough, or will you be over-run by the savage horde.
Comments: This map is quite easy on normal but quite challenging on hard and the very hard level is humbling. Users with slower computers should be aware that the large number of enemy troops involved may cause some lag. The map doesn't have much in the way of eyecandy but serves the purpose.
Note: This scenario is an invasion designed to play as a siege and will appear in the invasion list of the game.
Any comments you may have, both positive and negative, are welcome, as this is the only way I can improve my designs. Hope you enjoy, and have fun. :)
Playability: This map is very well made. It's good fun, able to offer a challenge to anyone and appeals to all skill levels. It's fairly simple in design and layout but this is not a negative point.
Balance: I have to rate this a 5, for one reason alone: this is one of the few maps that genuinely does offer a clearly marked level of difficulty across all playing levels. The hard setting is about right, normal may appeal to more inexperienced players (like me at times!). I won with an astonishing 1% troop loss on easy and was massacred time and again on very hard!! Find your balance and you will enjoy this. You aren't gifted with defending troops, which is great. You have to work at this on a difficult setting. Well done.
Creativity: Not the most original of maps, but don't be put off by this. It plays very sweetly. Well presented and thought out. Nice to see different sorts of defence to see you through the map (walls, moat, killing pits, pitch ditches (not over-used either), caged war dogs, detail in the terrain that easily resembles earthworks... all done about right and not to excess.
Map Design: There are little areas of this map that clearly shows the author has paid attention to detail without going overboard. I noticed the wooden palisading walls and detail n the lowest terrain to make it look very appealing. The castle is simple yet effective and is very well suited to the story.
Story/Instructions: Very good effort here. Readable, easy to understand, sufficient detail here to introduce you to the map and a nice story.
In summary? Splendid effort, good fun and certainly recommended as a download.

The playability is great. You can see how long you can hold the pigs mighty jaws off on very hard or see what would appen if you did things different.
Balance: i give it a 5 for the same reason as Sulis, its easy on easy and hard on hard.
creative: You get run over by the pig. There's not much creativity possible and no one cares anyway.
Map Design is a 5 mostly due to the palisade. I know its quite slow to make wooden walkways especially for that length.Of course there are several other thing that got this map a 5.
Story was very nice. It gives you that feeling that you are defending an outpost rather than beating the scenario.
Overall its definitely worth downloading no matter how good you are.
