you are wondering around the desert when you see a river flowing in the distance. when you arrive at the waters edge you see before you a large mountain with many resources atop it, alongside them the river flows rapidly. you decide that this would be an ideal place to create a large castle. but you cannot decide where to place it. should you build to the east of the river where all the resources are. or tho the west with the oasis. Chose your side wisely.
Too much plain desert. And dont put the trees in the same spot, separete them.

ok. well i was trying to go for a harder map by placing all the resources on one side and the only oasis on the other, making it harder to get one or the other depending on where you place your keep. but my opinion doesn't count because i made the map. Anyone else want to rate or comment?

What are you basing that on? Everybody has different designs. You can produce some suggestions to the author that you think could be helpful.
Champman, nice map. I can see some interesting gameplay from this castle builder. :)

I agree with Lord de Vulus that there shouldn't be that much open space without anything - maybe some *little* hills (don't use "hill" or "mountain" tool here, but the "higher" tool to create your individual shapes of hills and uneven ground), a few rocks, some groups of bushes or some small spots of grass could be added to make it look more interesting, maybe even replacing some of the "earth" terrain with the "earth and stones" terrain may be enough to let it look more impressive - if you wanted to create a wide, open space here, just put very few bushes into it. But like it is now, it looks a bit empty and boring.
Moreover, the shape of oasis and hills may look even better, if you make them more detailed and scarved, without any corners in the "border" between oasis and desert.
@Dragonheart: Yes, everyone has his own kind of creating and designing maps. But adding some details is not "changing how the map is thought to be", but improving it.
But of course, this are just suggestions. Whatever someone else says, it's still Champman's decision whether to accept it, or not.
This map is already quite nice =) It has SOMETHING...
Good luck with further working, Champman!
