The Canyon unbalanced - Multiplayer Skirmish Map. Map Designed by Merle Hofmann aka: "Merle_the_Conqueror" at Stronghold-Knights.com aka: "Lord Hofmann" at stronghold.heavengames.com Description/Storyline: The Canyon, is it a haven blessed by God with abundant resources or is it in fact a curse being trapped in such a confined space? The mountain keeps have very few resources and envy the castles within the canyon. Unless you are allied with the kingdoms below, you will have to fight to obtain the much needed resources for your kingdom. To make matters worse, the keep in the northern most section of the canyon appears to be quite defensible and should be able to hold off a siege of any duration. Map Designer Notes: This map was designed for 3 human players at odds with each other, confronting 5 allied AI's at "Deathmatch" settings and 40,000 gold to AI's. The 2 strongest human player should take the southern most mountain keeps on both sides of the canyon. The weaker human opponent would go in the most northern keep inside the canyon. AI's get the remains. Make them AI's strong ones now :) ! Other play options could include a 4th human player placed in the southern most keep within the canyon. This could also be a weaker player but they should be a little more skilled than the weakest human opponent. The rocks along the rim of the canyon were placed there to limit the ability of a human player to be "raining down death from above" with missle troops. My son-in-law (my nemesis, the "thorn in my side") complains about what he calls wasted building space, but it does serve it's purpose for the most part. Comments: This is the third map that I have created and I think I'm getting better at it. Our local group of players in Quincy, Illinois have played many of the custom maps from this site. Many are very good and I need to make more of an effort to rate and comment on them. By the same token, if you would like to rate/comment on my maps please do. This map has been available for download on the Stronghold-Knights.com website for quite sometime now. This map has been downloaded and played by many members of that site. I do hope that it becomes just as appreciated here on the Stronghold Heaven website. Enjoy! Merle
