I assume this is your first map? If so, well done! I'd recommend that you should re-size it to 300x300 so you can get more detail into the forest. At the moment it is quite plain (maybe it is supposed to be? as I've never been there) I love the little stone paths running through the forests. A little bit more work could be done on the hills and the same with the river. Go easy on the ford tool. Other than that the layout is excellent, it provides a good building space, but there are too many deer running around which tends to get a lttle bit annoying. Other than that, keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more of your maps! |

Playability: 3
Big problem, I am finishing up the wooden wall and guess what I saw, half the forest had died, I had a VERY small settlement and two wood cutters, and all the trees died, if it was not for the water it would have looked like a nuclear wasteland, did you play-test it?
Balance: 3
Same as above, good until the damned trees went post-apocalypse.
Creativity: 4.5
I liked what you tried to do, a mighty forest and a river running through, it was done nice and simple and not over done.
Map Design: 4.5
It was quite beautiful before the trees died, and your map design skills are wonderful.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story was not half bad, a Sultan asked you to build a fort, you do it, I could elaborate more but you gave a rather good story. |

The Tree Death problem can be a real downer sometimes. It can affect maps which have lots of trees and bushes. You could try making a version of the map with all the bushes taken out and the trees thinned down and see what happens. |

Another thing you might try is to
1) remove most of the trees
2) let the map sit in the editor and have the trees sprout.
3) add a few more and let it run
4) and so on so that you have a mixture of tree ages. |
