After the fall of the Roman Empire, Europe had no central government. As Christianity was spreading into northern Europe, political changes were also taking place. Around 480 A.D., a powerful group called the Franks conquered Gaul (what is now France). Under a ruler named Clovis, the Franks became christian and created one of the strongest kingdoms in Europe. But it wasn't until the late 700s when a leader named Charlemagne appeared. Charlemagne was a brilliant warrior and he led the Franks in building a huge empire that stretched into Germany, Austria, Italy, and northern Spain. As The Franks are building their empire and conquering new lands, new threats such as the Vikings from Scandinavia raided Britain, Ireland, and other parts of western Europe. Because Vikings could sail their ships up rivers, their raids weren't limited to coastal areas. A group of Vikings soon after threatened to destroy Constantinople. Play as either the Vikings, or Charlemagne himself.
Playability: 3
On defending mode, this map was certainly unplayable. I had to destroy my gate to make the enemies attack, however they hadn't event touch the inner walls, with the large amount of pitch ditches and crossbowmen I totally overpowered them. On attacking the game was much mroe fun as I had to think a little bit how to siege the castle, but it was very easy too, the player has 6500 golds in this mission, do you know what does that mean on attacking? A very large number of trebuchets, with their help I destroyed the whole castle to the ground and killed most of defenders with cows. Though it was fun...
Balance: 1.5
Very bad balance I have to say, this map is impossible to lose on both attacking and defending modes. The AI works very bad, as I've mentioned they don't attack in defedning mode and doesn't use any siege equipments and the xbowmens on the wall are a very great advantage for the player. In attacking mode the money makes the player owerpowered to. I can't tell how many things you have to change in this map to make it better.
Creativity: 2
The scripting, the design, the balance show nothing creative in itself. The idea would be good, but the implementation is very bad.
Map Design: 2
The castle looked very irrealistic and the terrain surrounding it looked bad too. The mounts were very unnatural as like as the fields. Work more with the terrain.
Story/Instructions: 3
A pretty good story, it is short, but contains a lot of historical informations and I also liked to read it.
Additional Comments:
I suggest you to work much more on your maps...
