PAH: The Bandit Hideout
Playability: 3
This is a curious mission. Even with the seemingly easy level of difficulty, the player must plan and follow through a strategy in order to win. Given several options, such as a catapult or a battering ram, which one should be used and for/against what? It's wrong to say this map is a 2-minute siege, because rushing into the camp with all there is will not end up with a good result.
On the other hand, a handful of playability-related errors could be/have been corrected. These include blind spots - archers cannot fire while troops are hidden in those areas. Traps - could have been placed in better locations for a better gameplay experience. Shrub placement - units cannot walk over these, almost created "pathways" for the people to walk along. Lastly, the mission is too short to be thoroughly playable - just bulldoze the gate, straight line to the nearest blindspot - and an easy victory from there.
Balance: 4
I won't deny, overall an extremely easy mission that many players will beat on their first attempt. But why then, does balance deserve a 4? The answer is as stated before - as long as the player has a good strategy and executes it correctly, there shouldn't be a problem. Nevertheless, a strategy is required, and when facing this massive group of hostile macemen - well, you'll need one quick.
Balance really ties in with playability.
Creativity: 3.5
Obviously, the author has put much effort into minute details, to make the bandit encampment look more like a camp and less like any other castle. These details aren't really different from many other eyecandy tricks, but they did add a feeling - such as the dungeon.
Map Design: 3
Nothing exceptional, mountains are realistic and beautiful. The immediate negative that I can think of is those shrubs. Not only are they a blow to the playability of this map, these shrubs made the terrain look rushed.
Story/Instructions: 2
A good introduction... to be expanded on. Instructions are nonexistent. A basic effort to tell the player about the map is sufficient, but needs much content in order for a higher mark to be scored.

A solid effort by SkullHeroLord. Well done.[Edited on 06/29/11 @ 04:52 PM]

Thank you.But I realy dont know what do you mean by"scrubs made the terrain look rushed"?
Also...I have another map in development, called The Castle of The scribe...or something like that...But I still have to balance it a bit, since if you sucsefuly take the castle, you can survive the siges with the large amount of defending troops you get.
Also, the PAH camping anit lost, but it is so...unbalanced that i wounder if I shoud release it at all... |

The way you placed the scrubs was somewhat unnatural.
You could upload your newer map and I'd try it, see if it's balanced or not ;)[Edited on 07/19/11 @ 07:03 AM]
